October • Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Feb 2020 - Mammogram - Abnormal, Breast Biopsy, Lumpectomy/Partial Mastectomy to remove a 7.2 x 3 x 3 mm mass also known as an Intraductal Papilloma. No cancer! 🙌🏼 Unfortunately with any surgery where tissue is removed it leaves behind deformation like dent, dimpling, flattening, etc... Which is constantly present mentally.

April 2021 - Mammogram - Normal
March 2022 - Mammogram - Normal
September 2024 - Mammogram - Normal
October 2025 - Mammogram - Normal
June 2026 - Mammogram - Normal

Sept 2026 - Breast Reduction Surgery & Delayed Partial Breast Reconstruction is something I've wanted since high school and since my lumpectomy, for many reasons. I was never happy in my clothes, always trying minimize and hide my large breasts. The comments from men and women were always the worst, and even though I always brushed them off and laughed along with the comments, deep down I was cringing. Money was always another road block to why I never followed through with surgery, but also because i kept telling myself, "Women pay big money to have these. I should be grateful." After my lumpectomy and that scare of possible breast cancer, a fire was lit inside me to make the change. To take control with preventive measures against breast cancer with yearly mammograms and breast reduction surgery. Breast reduction surgery can reduce cancer risk by up to 95% for women with a harmful mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA1 gene. It can reduce risk by up to 90% for women who do not have a gene mutation but do have a strong family history of breast cancer. Surgery reduces cancer risk primarily by reducing the amount of tissue that can become cancerous. Two pounds of tissue were removed in my surgery and the pathology report from surgery all came back Normal.

Ladies, early detection is key. Early detection saves lives. Check your breast and check them often. Take control of your bodies and your health. If there are any signs of lumps, bumps, or changes in your breasts, please get it checked out immediately.

T met and visited with the legendary franchise icon, Larry Dierker, who also autographed his jersey. If you dont know, Larry played for the @astros as the pitcher for from 1964 to 1976, and then managed them from 1997 to 2001. We hoped to see Jose Cruz as well, but he left the game early.

Hair loss wasn't something I expected during perimenopause, until it became impossible to ignore. I had long, dry, brittle, thin hair -- then there was the shedding. The amount of shedding that I had was enough to start my own wig shop. No lie! Then last week, five weeks after starting BHRT, I decided to cut my hair off and to stop holding on to the "I want long, thick, beautiful hair like all the 20 year olds" because I'm not 20 anymore, I'm 34. 😉 It was time to stop wrestling with the past and embrace the now.

Also, I don't have much new hair growth, yet, but there is definitely a difference since starting BHRT, healthier. by @mandy_montgomery_
