One of the better things when cold weather hits. I like to do a stuffed roasted butternut squash with ground turkey, spinach, lots of onion, garlic and parsley, with diced apple and sprinkled with dried cranberries and chopped walnuts. Instead of stuffing the butternut squash, I diced it and roasted it before mixing with the stuffing. Served with a glass of well chilled Riesling and we're in business!
Not the best presentation, but it's delicious. by @mandyp_73

As close as I've ever been to one. Super challenging lighting! It landed in a tree in front of me and proceeded to bite the stick (not sure why). #birds #birdphotography #nature #wildlife #canon by @mandyp_73

I've never had a belted kingfisher come so close to me. I have pictures where she is literally above me, but the lighting was terrible. Midday sun isn't great for this type of photography. It was still super exciting to have one up close. They are usually very shy birds. Female belted kingfisher in NJ. Haven't seen a kingfisher in a really long time! #birds #birdphotography #nature #wildlife by @mandyp_73

I finally got pictures of a beautiful adult Cooper's hawk!!! I have only seen 2 adults so far, and this is the only one I've been able to capture. It unfortunately didn't stick around long enough to get enough pics, but I'm happy I at least got these 2 photos (scroll for next pic). This was my consolation prize for not being able to photograph a gorgeous red-shouldered hawk in a very inconvenient location😭

Another shot of the adorable Tennessee warbler from this afternoon. I just love the green in its plumage. #birds #birdphotography #warblers #nature #canon by @mandyp_73

An incredible photo session with the most adorable and cooperative Tennessee warbler this afternoon. This is the first one I've been able to photograph well. I have seen them before, but my first one was years ago when I had a crappy camera. Glad I was able to get a few decent photos. Absolutely gorgeous warbler for sure. by @mandyp_73

Reposting this as I mistakenly labeled it a clouded sulphur. This is actually an orange sulphur! A first for me. by @mandyp_73

UGH!!!! The wings still aren't as sharp as I would like them to be, but still way better than what I could get with my Sony. Almost there! Swipe left for the next photo. by @mandyp_73
