I don’t want to highlight my dad in this description and reel, but I want you to see him as “Palestinian men” in general. If you watched my previous recipe video with him and it made you smile, made you feel like you were watching your dad, uncle, grandpa, cousin, neighbor, or brother that is what I wanted.

The focus of media has been on women and children, but not the men. The Palestinian men are being painted as “terrorist,” “Jihad,” “animals,” “children of darkness,” to name just a few and Palestinian and Arab men are light years away from any of those descriptions.

I want you to see this video and see the love, comfort, playfulness, goofiness, tenderness, heart of gold, and wholesome demeanor of a Palestinian man and take these descriptions of them away with you because these are the true descriptions of our men. Palestinian men love their family, community and friends so hard and any loss to them is devastating, so you can only imagine the loss the men are also experiencing in Palestine. These men are digging people out of rubble with their bare hands in sandals tirelessly💔

It’s men like Khaled Nabhan, Moamen Al Sharafi, Wael Al Dahdouh, and Motaz Aziaza (just to name a few) among thousands of men in Palestine losing so much as well and continue to keep caring for others on top of showing us their unshakeable faith as their grief is also televised.

I want you to see US for who we really are and not who we are being painted to be ❤️

Self care ➖the cost

Needed to show myself a little love after a hard month at work, so I did but I stick to what I already had in my house! It made a world of difference slowing down and making sure I did something to make myself feel good!

A simple dance party brings hope ❤️
