It's National Dog Day! Dogs are the best and I'm so grateful to have so many awesome dogs in my life thanks to @muttscouts. No, these are not all my dogs except the first 4, the rest are dogs I've fostered. (RIP Rod 🤍) by @manesnmutts

The Cotswolds.

We frolicked through fields for hours (and got lost in them,) met lots of new animal friends, explored new towns, had sausage rolls and boozy hot chocolate, did lots of antiquing, pet dogs and had much needed friend time. So grateful for one of my fav humans on the planet @senoritaqueso to take this fun lil trip with. 🌷 by @manesnmutts

For Giving Tuesday I’m asking anyone who loves dogs (or me) to please donate to Muttscouts. Muttscouts means so much to me for so many reasons, but Gran is just a perfect example of the type of dogs Muttscouts helps. We want the dogs who are in bad shape and may not stand a chance, because those are the dogs that need us. Some dogs come to us with urgent injuries/trauma, some just needs months of care to recover from chronic illnesses they’ve had while living on the streets, others have been surrendered by owners who could no longer care for them. No matter what the case may be, we show up for these dogs every time.

This year for giving Tuesday we have a hefty fundraising goal of $20,000. We currently have 158 dogs in our care and 24 of them need major medical. We have an amazingly generous donor who will match up to $10,000 in donations, so If you’re able to donate, even $5 helps. We know times are tough right now and sharing posts like this and every one Muttscouts posts helps as well. If you’re able to donate, we accept donations through PayPal, Venmo (@muttscouts, last four digits are 1292) or our website (link in bio.) by @manesnmutts

I interrupt our (semi) regularly scheduled dogs and hair posts to present to you @henriettala, Max’s new restaurant that has been a true labor of love that we are SO FUCKING PROUD OF. The food is delicious and the vibe is even better. It’ll remind you of that cute little neighborhood spot you visited in London or Chicago and you won’t want to leave. They officially open for dinner service tomorrow 11/8 and they started lunch service today from 11:30-3. There’s also an adorable market with great food and cute gifts. Please come visit, I promise you’ll be happy you did. Link in my bio for reservations 🥂 by @manesnmutts

💔 We are desperately begging and pleading this morning! On Sunday a Good Samaritan watched a young dog get hit by a car and rushed her to the emergency vet. That dog is Poppy, an adorable Lab mix in a lot of pain right now and needs her leg amputated.

She’s not microchipped. She’s not spayed. No one has come looking for her. And now the hospital is planning to euthanize her at 3pm today— not because she can’t be saved, but because she doesn’t have an owner to pay for surgery.

We can’t commit to her without at the very least a foster, but we also need to raise funds as well. We were quoted $5,000, and we are racing against the clock to raise the funds and find a foster who can give her a safe place to heal.
This is truly a life-or-death situation.

Please, if you can spare anything — $5, $50, whatever’s possible — it could be the difference between life and death for Poppy.

📍We desperately need a foster home.
🙏 Please donate, share, and help us save her today. Venmo: @muttscouts, last 4 are 1292. If you’d prefer to donate with a credit card, there’s a donation link on our website.

Today we decided to officially adopt Gran! We pulled her from the shelter 10 weeks ago thinking she would super short term hospice foster. From the look of her video at the shelter and their notes, she was on death’s door and we couldn’t bear to think about her last days being in a shelter. Turns out Gran just needed some love and care, and is pretty damn happy at our house. Not sure how much longer she’s got on this earth, but we’re happy to have her sassy granny energy for as long as she’s got. ❤️ by @manesnmutts

This week has been so devastating for LA and I’m so heartbroken for everyone who’s lost their homes and loved ones.

If you or someone you know have been affected by the fires and need temporary placement for a pet please reach out to me, I can help!

There are still plenty of pets that have been separated from their families. If you find a dog, I recommend taking the following steps in this order:

-Take them to any shelter or vet to scan for a chip to see if they can be quickly reunited.
-Bring them to the shelter in the jurisdiction they were found in. When people lose pets, the shelter is the first place they call.
-Post flyers in your neighborhood
-Post on Nextdoor, Craigslist and Pawboost

Most shelters have had tons of supplies donated this week but they will need more soon. If you have supplies to donate, you can drop off to me and I can help coordinate donations. 💛 by @manesnmutts
