The Game Starts in the Classroom

The Heritage High School Football Team is poised for greatness. Manhood Mindset was invited to have an honest conversation about mental health, high risk behavior, and respectful relationships. Some men asked about their purpose in life and it was a powerful conversation. They are very respectful, attentive, and thoroughly confident.

Thanks to Coach Quincy Carter for inviting me to see his program. We talked about our experience on the Eastside and the relationships at Southwest Dekalb and Cedar Grove. It was definitely a great day watching a legend pour into future generations. Salute to you Coach!

When talking to young people about their safety, we can give them the skill of discernment by teaching them about behavior patterns. Enemies will watch you more closely than friends and emotional people can be thier own worst enemy and not even know it.

Cedar Grove High School scholars are now skilled at knowing the difference between love and respect. We acknowledge that love is not enough to keep your life. It takes respect to build a foundation for healthy relationships to stand on. Young men must know that respect is not a feeling, it's a behavior.

You don't have to tolerate or react to abuse to be a man. Remain in the image and likeness of The Most High. Thats the foundation, not your feelings.

Teach them the game so they can play with some longevity.

Keep investing in the youth no matter how loud the narrative becomes. Whoever invests in the youth, invests in their future. Whoever invests in the future, will reap what they sow.

Manhood Mindset facilitated a conversation on skills and tools to navigate conflict at Cedar Grove High School in Dekalb County. Young people are faced with many obstacles that invite emotional decisions and we are seeing too many lives being affected. The Cedar Grove Football Team paid close attention and actively participated in the discussion. We appreciate the parents and teachers for giving guidance and support. The world is different for them. Give them the game so they can play to win.
