Commissar Yarrick, Astra Militarum First model after attending Iron Thistle at the start of the month, so this was more of a test model to see if I could try and incorporate some of the guys feedback. I’ve got a habit of spending time on the parts I like to paint, and rushing past the rest. So this was a bit of a slog to try and get everything too the same level. I’m going to put it away now, but I’ll probably revising some of the metallics and push them a bit more. If you guys have any suggestions or comments would really appreciate it. Well I’ve finally ran out of time, so here is my ‘finished’ entry for #oldendemon2025 I’ve only been painting since October Last year so I’m pushing my luck a bit here, but I just love these retro minis and with channels like @olden_demon shedding light on them I couldn’t not give it a go. Just glad I can now sit back and look over all the other awesome entries. Already got a few favourites. #oldhammer #oldhammer40k #warhammer_40k #warhammer #sharethehobbylove #bloodangels40k #bloodangels #warhammer40kpainting #paintingwarhammer40k #2ndedition40k #2ndedition #paintingminiatures #paintingoldhammer by @manic_wip
Emperors Spear Captain Breac! Finally after 3 head-swaps, a dodge shield conversion and a breakdown over NMM, this dude is finished. Still a few touch ups here and there, but for the most part I’m pretty happy with how it’s all turned out. For those that have been asking: The shield from the Breacher Shield upgrade kit from Horus Heresy 30k. There is a great conversion video on YouTube from Petethewargamer that I ‘borrowed’ 😬 Also The face was painted following @darrenlatham awesome tutorial.. less to the best of my abilities (he only paints the eyes once.. I’m almost gave up after attempt 4 So I can’t take credit for that either 😅 #warhammer40k #armageddon #spacemarines #new40k warhammercommunity @warhammerofficial by @manic_wip
This is probably as far as I’ll take this Ultramarine. Was always just going to be a test model to try and improve my NMM and edge highlighting. (Plus I hate painting backpack so no chance I’m doing that) Might come back to it in the future. Maybe a for a small squad diorama. 11th Edition Space marine intercessor #ultramarines #spacemarines #warhammer #warhammer40k #paintingwarhammer by @manic_wip
Throwback to this age of sigmar,Blades of Khorne Slaughterpriest. I think I painted this some time at the start of this year, maybe 🤷 I didn’t really take any photographs at the time, but because I’ve not been painting much just now I thought I’d re-post. Also still trying to improve my photograph setup, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. #warhammer #ageofsigmar #khorne #warhammerpainting #warhammercommunity by @manic_wip
Second attempt at posting this! Sorry again for another WIP spam.. promise this will be the last. 11th Edition Ultramarine intecessor. Tired to tie in the helmet to the rest of the armour with an attempt at some NMM. Blending the legs was a bit of a chore, and I need to tidy up the gun. But made good progress. #warhammer40000 #warhammer #ultramarines #spacemarines #warhammer40k by @manic_wip
Unfinished Project: 147 11th Edition Ultramarine intercessor. Felt I needed to improve my blending and brush skills so why not try a blueberry for a change. Took a while to get a recipe down that I liked (blue paints are a nightmare). Might actually finish this one.. maybe #warhammer #spacemarines #ultramarines #warhammer40k #warhammercommunity by @manic_wip
Death Korps of Kreig Veteran Master Vox Not sure if I’ll do more of these guys… or finish this one. But I have found a great denim shirt recipe. #warhammer #spacemarines #deathkorpsofkrieg #krieg #warhammer40000 by @manic_wip
Final WIP on Commissar Yarrick before he’s fully finished off. Probably not the best time to post with all these insane demon entries dropping today, but happy with how this is turning out so far. Brush down for the rest of the night. #warhammer40k #yarrick #spacemarines #warhammer #warhammercommunity by @manic_wip
Well I can add shoulder tassels to things I never want to paint again. Few things to finish off on this before I can move onto the fun stuff 🦀 #warhammer #yarrick #spacemarines #warhammer40000 #astramilitarum @warhammerofficial by @manic_wip
Well @the_iron_thistle, Yesterday was pretty special. This was my first experience of a painting competition and honestly it was an incredible day. The organisation of the event was perfect, the guys really put together a great event. This felt like an event that had been going for years. The addition of model feedback as well after the show was so valuable. Painting can be a pretty isolating hobby at time, so it was brilliant getting to chat to some many great painters and people enthusiastic about the hobby. Genuinely the highlight of the day. I was fortune enough to walk away win some pins, but the biggest positive was just experiencing it. I can 100% see how people travel the world doing this. Onto next year, where I can maybe get a 🍻 of two and a night in Glasgow. Thanks again to all the guys involved in putting together this event and the winners! #ironthistle #warhammerpainting #warhammercommunity #paintingminiature by @manic_wip
I hate painting pack packs so much these guys have been left unfinished for about 2 months. Determined to get the other 2 done before the weekend #warhammer40000 #spacemarines #emperorsspears #warhammercommunity #warhammerpainting by @manic_wip
