Throwback to my Tiny House Hunter days!

Can’t believe it’s been almost 11 years since our episode aired! Filming began in the summer of 2015, with an on air date of December 26, 2015.

Just grateful to have inspired others to take that tiny leap into tiny house living!
Tbh, I wasn’t quite prepared to be Internet famous overnight and I required even more therapy afterwards! Lol 😝

I did come to appreciate my local celebrity status in the City of Chula Vista. Grateful to represent the Fil-Am community and the City! For what it’s worth, my fame lasted about six months (about the same as each relationship I’ve had)!

It was such an experience and it was incredibly fun!

Thank you for the memories, my friends at HGTV!

Hi!

I’m Girard!

Just wanted to do a formal introduction and give you a ‘tiny’ bio:

Born in South LA (near Watts Tower); grew up in my early childhood years near Dodgers Stadium (Elysian Park) and Moved to the east San Gabriel valley in the late 70s with my parents.

Currently, out here in San Diego (Chula Vista). I live in a Tiny Casa in a trailer park, btw. They call me “The Filipino Redneck.” I come from a very multicultural/multiethnic family background: we are Filipino, Mexican, Japanese and Black.

Served our Country and Community almost 15 years with US Customs (as a former IT Specialist).
Appeared on HGTV’s Tiny House Hunters back in late 2015 (Season 2). I’m a bonafide reality star, j/k!
I used to posses a SECRET level clearance at one time with the Government as a contractor.

Got my Bachelor’s degree from University of La Verne in Organizational Management (took me 10 years to graduate). Class of 2010!

Worked in my cousins former auto shop in Eagle Rock. That’s how I came to appreciate cars and engines. I started my IT career in logistics for a trucking company in Chino in the late 90s. I love all sorts of trucks on the road and appreciate all our brothers and sisters in CDL community.

Hope to open up an actual smog test shop in my old stomping grounds of Pomona or Glendora. I plan to attend smog inspector school next year. I believe in life long learning and thank God for all the opportunities presented to me.

And, I help manage the family’s 40 acre off-grid campground near NW AZ (Seligman). Obviously, I love the outdoors! Camping and working the land. Love the desert as opposed to the mountains. Oh, and I hate hiking! I need to save my middle-aged knees! I already do enough walking and running, and biking already! I also own a tiny catamaran boat that I’m looking forward to finally put on the water! by @manikis_ranch
