Surprise! I’m back with another proof of life after posting a day ago (even I surprised myself). Here’s my March Dump.

1) found @findmecafe_ph to get their bestseller Japanese hambagu (so glad I ordered it because it was delicious). their hot matcha latte is decent. a little trivia: I always prefer my matcha latte unsweetened that’s why quality matcha powder and good milk are important to me.
2) Find Me Cafe’s cozy interior
3) my 3rd visit to @hikiniku.to.come_phl. I always get extra egg and extra patty.
4) as of this posting (July 2026), I have been to Hikiniku To Come 5 times.
5) tried 2 seasonal drinks from @the.matcha.tokyo.ph — iced matcha strawberry latte and matcha strawberry lemonade. between the two, I liked the latter.
6) curiosity got me trying out Matcha Tokyo’s limited edition crunchy cups in hot matcha white chocolate, hot chocolate latte, and hot matcha latte. amongst the 3, hot chocolate latte was the standout.
7) staycation in Bonifacio Global City, just because
8) second time in @stali_ph and this time I brought my reading buddies with me. we got the salted caramel tim tam, not guiness, hot matcha latte (I approve!), and burger royale.

10) snacking in @baristartcoffee_ph with their karaage and iced tea.

I know, I know. It’s been a while but I logged in so might as well post something: February Dump Proof of Life

For February, my reading buddy and I decided to do a few coffee and matcha crawls while doing some silent reading. Since people are calling reading in public ‘performative’, I decided to be the best performative reader out there. Being a reader is my whole personality now (finished 5 books in February).

1) visited @libroespresso_ in Tagaytay to check them out since I learned it’s both a cafe and a mini-library where people with membership can borrow their books. The place is quiet, well-lit, comes with comfy chairs, and sockets. Food is decent.
2) They also serve good cafe latte and they put them in cups with nice quotes in them.
3) the A-frame that is Concordia’s Tagaytay
4) decided to drop by @concordiascafetagaytay since we’re already in the area. Have to be honest here — I didn’t like their matcha. They told me their matcha powder is already sweetened so unsweetened matcha wasn’t possible. If I want it less sweet, they will use less powder. I guess the cafe is not really focused on doing matcha the right way. Other items we ordered are okay.
5) enjoyed hotpot lunch with cousins in @zhenbaohotpotph
6) another Performative Reader coffee crawl. This time we went to @sama.cafexdiner in BF Homes Parañaque. Their full breakfast and hot matcha latte made my morning.
7) their eggs benedict and sea salt latte are good too.
8) the vibe in Sama Cafe x Diner
9) buddy reading in @the.matcha.tokyo.ph with our usual orders
10) first time in @afinocoffee and we liked their pistachio sansrival
11) Afino’s nice and light interior
12) spring rolls craving satisfied in @bonphonroll

~January Dump Proof of Life

Still alive—just been reading a lot (finished 4 books), drinking my non-alcoholics, and eating good.

1) got the afternoon tea in @fablecafelounge and my fave was their roast beef croissant with shaved truffles
2) tried @nokphilippines in Ayala Triangle and thinking of going back soon to try other dishes
3) afternoon desserts with friends in @stlouisph
4) you can’t go wrong with @nanyangph
5) the OG of afternoon teas: @thepeninsulamanila
6) delicious bossam in @tang_bgc
7) brought another friend to Tang BGC bc I love their food so much
8) first time in @emhanoi.bgc and food didn’t disappoint
9) turon in Manila Peninsula is top tier
10) introduced my reading buddy to @theblackbeanph and she’s all praise about their food

Hope you’re all doing fantastic—regulating your nervous system, balancing your cortisol, and managing stress by sleeping well, practicing gratitude, and eating good.

Hi, this is my year-end post to inform everyone that I’m still very much alive. The reason why I’ve been M.I.A. (missing in action) is because I’ve been wonderfully drowning in stories in the book world. I grew up a reader (I even read the encyclopedia at times) but since the advent of social media, I slowly abandoned the hobby until I noticed it affects my attention span and focus so I decided to go back to my second love: reading. For 2025, I made a goal of reading 12 books—one for each month. Unfortunately, I experienced a reading slump for 7 long months. Since I wanted to still stick to my goal, I made an effort to catch up on my reading and finished 11 books in 3 months. I even went above my goal by reading 13 books in total. Happy International Coffee Day!! This year, I didn’t expect to love shaken espresso but I totally did! I still love Ethiopian coffee and Dirty Matcha and I think that won’t ever change. Coffee cheers, everyone!

#ManilaEatUpInBali EP05 | The fam and I decided to spend happy hour watching the Bali sunset in @laplanchabali. We arrived at 5:30pm and the place was almost full. Everyone’s lounging on their colorful bean bags under their colorful umbrellas while good funky music was blasting from the speakers.

We found a spot and plopped ourselves on our own bean bags. The crowd was chilling, sipping on their drinks, and vibing. Just like what Gen Z’s say, “the vibe was vibing”.

As far as I remember, the cocktails and the food were okay. I was too busy watching the sunset (as a sunset lover), enjoying the company, and just soaking in the whole experience.

Date with myself pt1 —
@nikunikuohkomeph has been on my radar for a few months. Since I had some errands to run in SM Mall of Asia last weekend, it was the perfect opportunity to visit the place and take myself out on a date. I got the set that offers 3 different hamburg steaks. The steaks were flavorful, cooked to your preference, and perfectly portioned. By the way, don’t sleep on the rice (especially when mixed with raw egg) because their rice was delicious! So far, this meal is one of the tastiest meals I’ve experienced this 2025 and as of this posting, I’m going back with my friends this weekend.

#ManilaEatUpInHanoi EP07 | Another solid recommendation! I love food and it doesn’t matter if I dine in a fancy restaurant or an average-looking eatery. What matters is the food—the sincerity of the flavors and the people who prepared them. I went to Hanh Ngan De one fine mid-morning because a trusted foodie friend told me this exact line, “Do not leave Hanoi unless you’ve tried the food in Hanh Ngan De.” I made sure to order their bestsellers and as expected, I came out of the eatery a happier person.

When you’re in Hanoi and you’d like to indulge in delicious goose meat, visit #HanhNganDe

It was during the 2020 pandemic when I found out about @theblackbeanph and that time, they were just offering drinks for delivery. I remember being a fan of their Matcha Latte, Mocha, and Cold Brew. Fast forward to 2025, I learned they opened a space in Legazpi Village, Makati so I made sure to visit. I even asked my friends to join me for brunch so we can try several items on the menu. Check out my ratings in the video.

Will I go back to The Black Bean? As of this posting, I’ve already gone back 3 times and planning a 4th visit.

#ManilaEatUpInHanoi EP05 | One can’t visit Vietnam and ignore their pho. And that “one” was me. That’s why I made sure to enjoy a bowl in this Michelin Bib Gourmand pho place called Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư. Among the 10 pho options they offer, I got Tái Gầu which is a combination of half-cooked eye-round steak and well-done brisket. The beef were sliced thinly allowing the hot broth to cook it further. I was happy with my bowl. The broth was flavorful, the 2 types of beef were tender, and the rice noodles were silky and chewy. Btw, I only queued for about 20 minutes because I came after the lunch crowd had gone. Definitely worth the wait.

#ManilaEatUpInCebu EP06 | Another day, another coffee shop to visit. It came highly recommended by a good friend with a great palate so we decided to get brunch in @tightropecoffee. Really glad we started the day right. Spoiler alert: we love their coffee and matcha so much that we came back the next day. I got Dirty Matcha btw.

Put #TightropeCoffee on your list the next time you visit Cebu.
