Sometimes, the things that live inside the heart find their way into colours, skies, and little pieces of art. Stars become feelings, eyes hold entire galaxies, and ordinary moments turn into something magical. Maybe that’s where all the unspoken dreams go, somewhere between what is felt and what can be seen.

Dhol Baje ‘26, now done and dusted. 🪔

Dandiya sticks clacked. Garba circles getting bigger and bigger. Bollywood took over the minute the garba set wound down.

Every step on the dance floor was also a step in another direction. The Rotaract Club of MAHE brought back their annual fundraiser, and they didn’t disappoint once again. Chaniya cholis and kurtas, sore feet by the third song, and nobody leaving early.

The music was loud, but the chorus singing above it was even louder. And so was the pulse inside.

Here’s the night, through our lens. Swipe through. 🥁

What’s presented in front of you is all you see, but it wasn’t always that way, now was it?
Think back to your younger days, filled with colours, patterns and characters dictated by childlike wonder, and piecing together things that seem beyond ridiculous now, but isn’t that the whole charm?
The world has found itself turning so mundane filled with monotony that we seem to have lost sight of what makes us different, what makes us pop and what makes us imagine.
And maybe that’s what we need; to see things the way kids do, getting awestruck and letting your imagination take the reins and see things the way you’d want it to be.

Manipal loaded into Minecraft, and suddenly every fest is a side quest. ⛏️🎶

Villagers are running the stalls, the crowd’s dropping XP, and someone just found netherite in the mosh pit. 💎🧑‍🌾

Just remember: when the music stops and the lights go out, the creepers aren’t the only thing waiting in the dark… 👀

As humans we often end up carrying things. Things that others sometimes can or most times can’t see but there’s this quiet freedom that comes with carrying it- you get to choose what you carry. Some might disagree, because things always aren’t in our control but we still get to make joy out of little moments, sadness out of something hurtful and everything good and bad. Maybe that’s the beauty of it. We get to feel, WE GET TO CARRY.

Has a college fest ever felt so magical? A dancer twirls amidst the arches, a fire bender adds her own spark to the shawarma grill and a wizard roams the street observing the excited crowds. They’re illustrations, yet they aptly depict a week where anything seemed possible. Sometimes it gets difficult to remember that these could very well be some of the most memorable times in our lives So, look around, soak it in, and say yes to the craziness.

Tech Tatva ‘26 is a game, in every sense of that word. A person could respawn in front of you at a stall, right after you see them get KO’d at the stairs, and no one would bat an eye. There are so many quests to embark on, and the best part is that everyone can be the main character, even if you’re a blurry mess (we’re waiting for you to finish downloading). The major sentiment this year is that people wish they could take all the vibes of this funky, near overwhelming and crazy good fest and replay it whenever they want. Like imagine a disc, that you could put on to relive the memories. But memories are just one of the many pieces to what makes tech tatva so great. And until the next fest, we hope you have a lot more moments to put on the disc and recall ;)

An event isn’t just about showcasing your talent. In the middle of it all, you meet new people, laugh your heart off and wonder if a moment like this would ever return in your life or simply...remain a memory. A memory isn’t exactly something negative, yet the thought of not experiencing the best moment of your life again haunts you. Still, you preserve it all. The joy, the shared tears. The wins and the fails. You organize them all neatly in a floppy disk, assuring yourself that they’re never getting deleted from it. Only one identity exists before and long after the event ends. Yourself. The memories aren’t moments you cherish, they are fragments of your life that you’ll carry with you until even you don’t exist anymore.

Pass it to the next person: Give the most unhinged thought that lets them wonder where THAT came from. Pass a word, an incomplete thought or a massively complete one(or a failed one in some people’s case). Dive into Manipal’s most absurd yet interesting experiences through *one single word*. Let’s see what keeps them up all night or fuels them up for the day! From one person to the next, the words keep changing, the vibes stay immaculate, and absolutely nobody knows what’s coming next. Consider this our contribution to campus culture during TechTatva!

Our life is lived in frames. These frames go by pretty fast, especially in college where you’re left running from hostel to classroom to lab to mess, hoping that you make it before they stop serving dinner. It’s all a mash of indiscernible experiences. The quilt of college slowly starts to seem woven by threads of yarn that no longer look like they belong to the same spool. College life seems to go faster and faster until WHAM! You suddenly have a college fest around the corner. Halfdays for a week and a certain air of festivity hang about the entire college. Students rushing about from competition to competition, the organizing committees going about their business with their lanyards jingling around their necks, even the faculties seem to take an interest into something outside academia. And in these moments, the frames of our life seem to pause, even if only for a moment, as a reminder that sometimes life needs to be slowed down to be enjoyed.

It is astonishingly easy to forget that we might be living through indisputably the best, most documentable years of our lives. Why does college mean so much to us? Maybe because it’s the only time you’re living in an ideal world, with all of your best friends, your entire support system within walking distance, away from the fears that held you back in your old life, allowing you to morph into an actual person, someone you’ve always wanted to be. Very very easy to get caught up in the haze, the race, the need to succeed. Take a second to look around, remember why you’re here, and unironically make the most of the innumerable opportunities college will inevitably swing onto you.
