A stay-at-home mom. 🏠👩Oftewel een mama die thuis zit met oneindig veel liefde, chaos, zorg geven en eindeloze to-do lijsten heeft. Jup, that’s me. Thriving op weinig slaap en jezelf niet op nummer 1 zetten is een keuze. Een keuze die ik keer op keer zou kiezen, want “Ooooh 🥹” mijn kindjes zijn mijn pareltjes. Ik heb er voor gekozen om kindjes op de wereld te brengen, dan is het mijn taak om hun op te voeden met liefde, geduld en aandacht. That’s my dream job 💭✨Het moment dat Odin was geboren, veranderde mijn hele gedachte gang. Moeders overlevings instinct stond aan, anxiety kwam naar boven, hormonen gieren door het lijf en kapotte tepels met stuwing. Nou dat was de druppel 💧. En dan ook nog na 3 maand je baby in het kinderdagverblijf doen en zelf ook in het zelfde kinderdagverblijf werken, maar dan andere kinderen opvoeden. Ik kreeg daar een enorme error van. Je leest het al 🙂, ik zat in m’n lichte postpartum stoornis. Zo waren er wel meer dingen, waarom ik er voor koos om huismoeder te worden. Het was natuurlijk al een droom om moeder te worden, maar nooit gedacht dat het zo zou uitpakken. Mijn man die mij een keuze gaf om een huismoeder te zijn en ook nog een andere droom te laten vervullen, naar Barcelona verhuizen. “Wauw! Mi marido es fantástico eh!”. Dromen die ik voor hem leerde kennen en op had gegeven, maar toch zijn uitgekomen! Magical ✨Naast chaos, stoeien, koken, knutselen, lachen, noem maar op. Ben ik zo blij dat ik dit kan doen. “My little family” staat op nummer één en gaat voor alle anderen. Om mezelf door alle bochten te wringen kost te veel energie om aan de wensen van iedereen te voldoen. Want ja uiteindelijk woon ik niet met hun maar met mijn “little family”. 💫 Kiezen voor co-sleeping (beste ochtenden ever), wakker worden met een knuffelend kindje met twinkelende oogjes die klaar zijn voor de dag. Daar leef ik toch voor 🥹. Maar ook kiezen om te overwegen voor thuisonderwijs zijn beslissingen die ik voor het welzijn van mijn kinderen kies. En toen kwam de vraag naar mezelf. I made a little cardboard boat… but according to Odin, that’s just not big enough. 🚤😂He wants the big one. The kind you can actually sail away in. Maybe one day. Some mornings don’t need a big plan 🤍We started the day slowly by watering our plants before settling down for over 30 minutes of pirate themed crafting. The boys had so much fun decorating with glitter, it kept them happily busy for ages!Next, I prepared a little pirate fruit snack with tiny pirate flags. The sweet pineapple was definitely the favourite 🍍🏴‍☠️ After fruits we did some drawings, discussing what we should finish for the treasure hunt. I caught up on laundry, tidied the house, folded clothes, and got everything ready for the rest of the day.Since Idris has recently switched to just one nap, he went down for his midday sleep while Odin and I enjoyed reading a book together. It inspired a new little project that I’ll share soon. 👀Later, Kevin took Odin to the playground so I could finish a few things around the house and repair some activities. I even painted our pirate ship’s wheel because Odin wasn’t in the mood to do it today and that’s perfectly okay.These slow mornings, filled with little moments of learning, creating, and simply being together, are often my favorite. ❤️#slowmorning #homeschooling #playbasedlearning #piratetheme #sahmlife by @manisshome

For the longest time, I held myself back because I was worried about what people I knew might think.Then I realized something.The people who truly matter are the ones who choose to support you.So I stopped creating for the silent spectators and started creating for the people who genuinely enjoy being here.I even removed old acquaintances and people from my previous private account who were no longer part of our lives. If they wanted to be here, they had every chance to be here and follow this account. Most didn’t.. and that’s completely okay.Instead of worrying about being watched, I surrounded myself with people who actually want to see me succeed. I follow creators I genuinely enjoy, and I’m grateful for everyone who chooses to follow our journey.That one decision gave me so much freedom.Sometimes protecting your peace isn’t complicated. These are some of our favorite board books 🤍📚I love choosing books that encourage curiosity and introduce real life topics in a way that’s easy for little ones to understand.While my oldest explores our weekly themes in more depth, my 1,5 year old joins in through board books like these. Day one of our pirate week is complete! 🏴‍☠️Today we started our first pirate crafts, danced our hearts out to pirate music, and watched Peter Pan with a fun TV bingo. ⚓️ Ahoy, mateys! Our pirate week has officially begun! 🏴‍☠️🌴I’ve been so excited to put this theme together from crafts and hands-on activities to books and our little learning corner.This morning, I wrote Pirate, Piraat, and El Pirata on our chalkboard, along with the letter P. I pointed at the word and asked Odin, “What does this say?”Without hesitation, he said, “Piraat.” 🥹I was completely surprised. “How did you know that? Which letters do you recognize?” I asked.His answer? “I don’t feel like it anymore.” 😂One of those little moments that reminds me how much children absorb through play, even when you don’t realize it.Now it’s time to set sail for a week full of pirates, islands, treasure maps, and little adventures. 🏝️⛵️✨#pirateweek #playbasedlearning #earlylearning #homeschooling #learningthroughplay by @manisshome
