So many of us grew up hearing silence when we needed reassurance, or criticism when we needed comfort. 🌿

The words you never heard as a child?
They don’t stop mattering just because you’re an adult now.
You still deserve them. You can still give them to yourself.

💌 Save this post for the days your inner child feels small.
💬 Tell me in the comments — which line would have changed everything for little you?

she knows who won’t eat lauki, whose tablet is due at 9, which tiffin got left on the counter.
she doesn’t know the last time she sat down while her tea was still hot.

because somewhere along the way, taking care of everyone became her responsibility, and resting started feeling like neglecting something.
but she deserves to sit down without mentally checking if everyone else is okay.
she deserves care that doesn’t have to be earned by being useful.
you can be a good mother and wife without having to be on duty every second of the day. 🌿

Sometimes the most important thing said in a session
isn’t planned.

It just comes out because the person in front of me needed it.
And then I think about it long after the session ends.

These are from this week. đŸ€

Emotional maturity isn’t a personality trait most people were born with. It was built in rooms where it was required, in families where someone had to be the steady one, in childhoods where reading the emotional temperature wasn’t optional. The maturity came first. The childhood came second. Sometimes it never came at all.

And the thing that gets built alongside the maturity is a standard. A bar you hold yourself to that you would never hold anyone else to. You understand why people react. You extend them the context, the compassion, the benefit of the doubt. And then you react normally and you don’t extend yourself any of it. The self-awareness becomes a weapon turned inward.

This is the part I sit with a lot in sessions.

The person who can hold everyone else’s pain but doesn’t know how to put their own down without guilt. The one who is so good at being the container that they’ve never been given permission to overflow. The one who knows, intellectually, that they deserve care and finds it genuinely difficult to receive it without immediately trying to return it.

The work now isn’t building more capacity. It’s learning what it feels like to be held instead of always being the one doing the holding.

That’s available to you.

Mann Ka Ghar is here. Book a session through the link in bio.

Putting others first is often a subconscious defense mechanism. Managing external drama serves as a convenient detour, allowing you to bypass your own hidden exhaustion, wounds, and vulnerabilities. This habit offers a fleeting burst of authority over internal stress, usually fueled by the lingering worry that you are only valuable when you are rescuing someone.

Furthermore, meddling in outside dilemmas acts as a shortcut; you get to analyze and advise without doing the heavy lifting. When facing your own reality, you are stuck with the actual burden of implementing change, making it much simpler to look away.

Most people don’t come to therapy because they “overthink.”

They come because their mind never learned what it feels like to be at rest.

Because somewhere along the way, being alert became safer than being relaxed.
Being prepared became safer than being present.
Being hard on themselves became safer than being compassionate.

Overthinking is not the problem.
It is the nervous system’s attempt to prevent further emotional injury.

Your mind keeps revisiting the past not to hurt you,
but to make sure you never have to feel that same helplessness again. And trying to silence it without understanding it often makes it louder.

Real healing begins when your nervous system no longer experiences your life as something it needs to constantly defend against.

This is not something that resolves through advice alone.
It resolves when your internal world finally experiences safety, processing, and repair.

If you see yourself in this, therapy can help you work at the root — not just manage the surface.

đŸŒ»You can book a 1:1 session through the link in bio when you feel ready.

💌 This space is educational, but therapy is where your individual patterns are understood and worked through safely.
