Writer & philosopher...perhaps, but being a quietly modest bloke, all that can be said is...I'm the world's best BBQ'er, barista and a handy gardener!

Autumn is our favourite time of the year. We sent a few photos like these to Mel, and she came back suggesting like she did with a rose garden, that we remove the trees and pave the areas, so we don’t have all the work raking and leaf blowing. by @manningtypes

Today is Maxwell’s 105th birthday…see photos of his journey…
(a) a tired baby after several hours tormenting us
(b) playing in the garden - as an up-tails-all toddler
(c) showing us how fast a teenage boy can run
(d) serious middle-age men’s business
(e) in the autumn of our boys life
(f) in his favourite place, hunting in the garden.
.
We love him dearly, numerous quirks and all.

Just a few of Trump’s ‘suckers and losers’.
Without so many brave souls like them, the world would have been a very different place over my lifetime.

I cannot understand how a so called sophisticated country can allow such a person to run for any public office, let alone the highest in their land.

I cannot understand America’s winner takes all system. If Harris gets 55% of the vote in say California, and Trump gets 45%, why aren’t the electoral college votes allocated accordingly. This gerrymander is even worse in states won by a mere handful of votes, given the winner takes all the electoral college votes. This from the country that purports to be the model democracy for the world.

It is my hope, that there remains enough decent, fair minded people in America, especially those who consider themselves conservative, to ensure that such a person is never be elected again. by @manningtypes

Wacky Wachendorfia…a favourite of mine.

A much travelled plant is our Wacky. Originally planted in 2005, where it thrived for over a decade, we took a small piece of it when we moved to our current garden. Just like us, plants have to love their place in this world to thrive, and it has taken us three go’s to find the right spot.

Thankfully we’ve found it, and Wacky is now set to see us out. by @manningtypes
