TWENTY ONE…
My “LT” year as my friend Jay would excitingly refer to it when he was turning 21, in which i’d always respond “Lords Trials?” (knowing he was referring to Ladaninan Tomlinson)…
and this year was most definitely a year of the Lords Trials.
I started off my twenty-first summer with a constant state of apathy, not knowing what to feel or how to feel and continued to question if the voice i had heard so clearly before was actually the voice of the Lord.
by mid-july, during a long two weeks in washington. the first half was amazing, yet the second half was terrible as I found myself out late in the city one night where I finally realized that i’m not invincible and crying to the Lord as i fell asleep, to just speak to me again… the following morning i got on a train, for a hike at mt. rainer, and as i sat at a bus stop in Puyallup waiting for my friends to pick me up, an elderly lady named sandy started questioning me on the book i was reading, i looked at her took out an airpod in annoyance and said “live no lies”, she then responded “thats a very good book” paused, and right before i could put my airpod back in, followed with “make sure to always fold a corner of a page when a chapter speaks to you so you can go back to it because sometimes the Lord is trying to tell you something and doesn’t want you to forget”… i had just been thinking to myself this chapter is exactly what i needed to read, she then says “well i want you to keep reading so the Lord can speak so i’ll stop talking.”… i was in shock, almost questioning if she was an angel, when my friends called me and said they were in the parking lot across the street.

the following month followed with even more trials though, within a five day period i had to find a place to live, a job to work, and roommates to live with… not one single thing figured out yet every single day the Lord answered each one and by the day i had to move out i had it all dialed, but yet i still hadn’t heard His voice in awhile… and still wondering why He hadn’t gave me a title for the next season.
