For my first returning playthrough after like 4+ months, I decided to redo a handful of former shots, including this one of Raven, dazed and balance broken, courtesy of the amazing @videogameflicks who provided an instructional clip showing how to achieve this shot!

I’ve learned a thing or two about photography and, specifically, framing since I’ve been away and was eager to apply it here.

I also wanted to give a shoutout to my friend here, not just for sharing that clip, but for being such an active and thoughtful creator in this growing community - you really are a credit to the community sir! 🫡👏🏻🙏🏻 by @manowilkes

WINNING MATCH!

This has easily taken me 200+ attempts over the last week or so, lots of trial-and-error, lots more learnt + valuable info to share

- She has NO Exospines in this mode
- THREE gears, ALL double-edged
- NO combat consumables (i.e grenades!)
- THREE tumbler modules
- Begginer-most health bar
- LEVEL 1 ONLY Burst skills
- All Beta skills have extra shield break damage DISABLED, as well as the ability to gain extra Beta energy DISABLED
- NO Tachy mode

All you have is your basic attacks, essentially! All forms of counter are available, but they’re substantially more difficult to use/pull off (which is why you might notice I hardly use them here).

Parry, parry, parry all the way. I mean it. This fight is THE BEST way to learn her attack patterns and movesets, as well as the timing from certain - notably unblockable - attacks (like straight after Tempest when she bolts towards you out of the air!).

I can say, SOUND CUES ARE VITAL! Whenever there’s an unblockable attack with that metallic laser-like sound, WAIT UNTIL IT FINISHES to dodge. Seriously! The sound design in this game is as equally as important as the VFX. Use it! 👌🏻

Sometimes in phase 2, she’ll launch into the air and send shock waves flying at you; this is one of THE most difficult attacks to dodge, and it also negates my previous insight slightly- you have less than half a second to react. This attack alone has ended so many of my runs, but also strengthened and refined my reaction time!

It’s still very far from “perfect”, but it’s also waaay further up from where it previously was. THAT COUNTS!

Use of Shock Wave beta skill is HIGHLY recommended as it downs the enemy and gives you a moment to recover and take stock of your situation.

Last thought: treat it like a dance! A deadly dance, sure, but a dance no less - it’s *all* about rhythm and patterns. The more patterns you learn, the closer you get to completion. Wits are absolutely paramount here - keep ‘em about you at ALL times, and make sure to stay hydrated!! 💧 by @manowilkes
