🔴⚫️ GOOD LUCK, DREW!

Mansfield Baseball is wishing 1991 graduate Andy “Drew” McCauley and the Evansville Otters the best of luck as they continue their run in the Frontier League Playoffs tonight!

McCauley has managed Evansville since 2010, leading the Otters to multiple postseason appearances and the 2016 Frontier League Championship.

Long before his career in professional baseball, McCauley was a Mountie — playing under Hall of Fame head coach Harry Hillson and helping lay the foundation for one of the greatest eras in Mansfield Baseball history.

From Shaute Field to professional baseball, we’re proud to call Drew one of our own.

Good luck tonight, Drew and the Otters!

𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗡’𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗞. ⚾️⛰️

Born and raised in rural, blue-collar Tioga County, 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝘃𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 grew up attending Mansfield Baseball winter clinics and summer camps while watching the great Mountaineer teams of the 1990s compete on the national stage.

Those experiences became part of a baseball journey that took Dan from Elkland High School to 2002 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, a third-round MLB Draft selection by Cleveland and 11 years of professional baseball. Today, he helps develop the next generation as a leader with 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹.

Dan’s story is proof that Mansfield Baseball has always meant something to this region — far beyond those who wore the uniform.

Now, he’s calling on former Mounties and friends of the program to help build its next chapter.

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘’𝗦 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗. ⚾️⛰️

Former Mountie captain 𝗭𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿 ’𝟮𝟰 knows that firsthand. The son of Mansfield University alum 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘇𝗲𝗿 ’𝟵𝟰, Zach continued his family’s connection to Mansfield while building a legacy of his own at Shaute Field.

Zach made an immediate impact, hitting a team-best .344 and earning 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗹-𝗣𝗦𝗔𝗖 honors in 2021. He later served as a two-year team captain before graduating in 2024.

But his message to Mountie alumni is simple:

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁.

You simply can’t compare Mansfield to any other school in the PSAC. The people, relationships, memories and tradition make this place different.

Now it’s our turn to help provide the next generation of Mounties with that same experience.
