Confidence comes before success.

When asked about the importance of self-confidence, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shared that he has always believed he could accomplish anything he put his mind to—whether it was basketball, soccer or even dance.

That belief gave him the confidence to chase greatness before there was any guarantee of success. His message to the next generation was simple: if you want to succeed, self-confidence is something you cannot afford to be without.

Goals need more than intention—they need accountability.

When asked how he challenged Jared without losing him, Lance McCain explained that it started with setting goals together and holding Jared accountable to the standard he chose for himself.

Write your goals on the mirror. Put them on the wall. Meditate on them every day—and listen to the mentors and elders helping guide you toward them.

Through powerful conversations with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lance McCain, the father of Jared McCain, the message was clear: stay focused, chase what you’re passionate about, and never let your academics fall behind your ambitions.

The day featured a high-energy basketball camp, a competitive 3-point shootout, and unforgettable rewards—including signed apparel, Tissot watches, and $250 gift cards for standout performers and students who achieved 95%+ averages.
