Yesterday, I had the rare privilege to share about grief and the nature of God (it was a testimony) Grief is a feeling i can’t fully describe or express, but it was a very challenging season, it still is. One character of God had always resonated with me the most, ”God‘s faithfulness“ , I’m not a theologian but I describe it as him being constant, always by my side and always there. Through pain, failures, grief, losses, God has always been by my side, always showing up and loving me. So, my God experience (testimony) wasn’t about a new job, or even God saving a family member from death, it’s about God‘s nature and of this I’m sure, no matter what happens in this life and the many challenges I may face moving forward, I’m convinced that I’ll be okay because I have God or to put it better, God is with me. by @manuel.wisdom

I recently got to experience Lagos, I’ve lived in this city for a couple of months and while I still hold my initial opinions of not loving Lagos, I’ve learnt to like Lagos. Hard things are hard to do One of the ways I’m recognizing growth in my life is standing up for myself and pushing back against injustice, bullying and shame. Ignorantly, I thought that this would be met with applauses or a pat on the back but I’m realizing very quickly that it’s a lonely, painful and difficult road. The reason is bullies don’t like people that push back, abusers don’t like rebels and wicked people don’t like opposition. While there is wisdom is picking your battles, it’s important to learn to stand up for yourself because nobody would, truly. I’m learning to betray my emotions and the voices that tells me to shrink back into a subservient and people pleasing human . It’s difficult but I’m learning that hard things are hard to do. It requires dying to self, laying your emotions aside and trusting your journey. by @manuel.wisdom

I’m not one that really settles, that means I’ve mostly only found home with my immediate family. Something about May ached for home, the familiarity that could only be found in my mother‘s snail stew and my dad‘s long anecdotes that I sometimes get tired of. I know now, that that’s a blessing and it’s not a reduction to anyone but I’ve experience losses in my life that has knocked sense into my head. I’m simply choosing to express my gratitude publicly. May, you were heavy but you brought some heavier blessings, Thank you Jesus for constantly rocking with this broken man that keeps beholding. by @manuel.wisdom
