I feel I need to write a little something about this amazing woman.

Catherine, you are one of the most respected people I have ever met in my career as a designer.

Ten years ago, you gave me a chance and hired me when very few people were willing to. What you probably never knew was that I was going through one of the darkest periods of my life. After countless job rejections, my confidence was gone and I was struggling with depression. You gave me an opportunity when I needed it most, and in many ways, you helped bring me back.

Not long after, the company decided to renew my contract for another six months. I told you that I had been promised a permanent position. It was almost 6pm when you looked at the contract, took it from my hands, and said, “Pretend you never saw this.”

The next morning, before lunchtime, you called me into your office and handed me a new contract. It was a full-time position with a significant pay increase.

That moment changed my life.

Because you fought for me, I was able to build a future. I was eventually able to buy my own small apartment. A single decision, a single act of standing up for someone, can change the course of a person’s life. You changed mine.

Over the years, you also fought for my recognition and growth at work. Whenever I had doubts, you always seemed to know exactly what to say. Your advice was honest, direct, and somehow always what I needed to hear.

We were not the kind of friends who spent weekends together, but you were someone I deeply admired and looked up to. You earned my respect not because of your position, but because of the way you treated people.

Thank you for believing in me when I struggled to believe in myself.

If there is a heaven, I hope one day I get the chance to see you again. I would love to introduce you to my family and tell them how much of an impact you had on my life, and how one person’s kindness, courage, and belief in another person can change everything.

I will keep doing my best. I will remember the words you shared with me and carry them with me always.

We will meet again one day.

Just not yet.

I still have a lot left to achieve.

Father’s Day always makes me think of you.

In 2020, you left us to join Mum and our beloved sister. It has been years, yet there are still moments when I wish I could pick up the phone and tell you about my life.

I don’t have any grand words today. I just miss you, Dad.

I often think about the way you would put your arm around my neck when we walked together. It was such a small thing, but it made me feel safe, loved, and close to you. Those memories have never left me.

Thank you for everything you gave me. I’m not wealthy or famous, but I have a good life. I am healthy, I have a secure job, and I share a small apartment with Alex that has become my forever sanctuary. We even have a modest investment property.

Sometimes I wish you could see it all. I wish I could sit with you and tell you that things turned out okay.

Until then, I’ll keep living my life, keep being myself, and carry the lessons you taught me every day.

We’ll see each other again someday—but not for a long while yet.

First time trying this notoriously smelly noodle! 😂 It’s called luo si fen (螺蛳粉). It’s definitely an acquired taste if you’re not used to it. The smell of bamboo shoots can be quite confronting if you’ve never had it before.

It’s actually totally fine for me because I grew up with similar flavours and smells. 😆 If you’re adventurous, give it a try! It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted, especially if you haven’t been exposed to many authentic Asian flavours. 😂 #fyp#food #asianfood #Foodie #noodles by @manvain

Just finished God of Fury by Rina Kent, and I jumped straight into it after reading the amazing King of Pain by JP Joseph.
This book is dark, intense, chaotic, and surprisingly funny at times. I absolutely fell in love with Nikolai and Brandon. Their push-and-pull dynamic is so well written, and the chemistry between them is incredible. Nikolai’s obsession with Brandon borders on stalker-ish at times, which only adds to the intensity of the story.
And yes, this book is very steamy. Did I mention very steamy? The author doesn’t hold back when it comes to the intimate scenes, making them vivid and unforgettable.
Overall, it was a wildly entertaining read that kept me hooked from start to finish.

Just finished King of Pain, an amazing book. What a beautifully written story. It’s a slow-burn romance, but when it finally gets there, the chemistry is undeniable. A wonderful second-chance love story with characters who felt so real.

The author did an incredible job developing not only the main characters but also the supporting cast. Every relationship added something meaningful to the story.

And the epilogue… I cried. It was heartfelt, emotional, and the perfect ending. Without a doubt, one of the best books I’ve read to date. #fyp #book #kingofpain #romance #mmromancebooks by @manvain

I hope I wont get canceled with this post. I’m trying to understand this trend with men and their sunglasses. Why do so many guys wear them on the back of their heads instead of on their faces or on top of their heads?
I genuinely can’t wrap my head around it. Personally, I don’t find the look very appealing, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something. Is there a practical reason for it, or is it just a style thing?

just finished my artworks for the Incognito Art Show and have officially submitted them! 😊

This year, the Incognito Art Show will be held at Carriageworks from 24 June – 5 July 2026.

Viewing only: 24–26 June (you can browse but not buy yet)In-person buying/exhibition: 27 June – 5 JulyOnline sales start: 28 June onwards

It’s such a fun event and open to everybody to participate. If you’ve ever wanted to join, come and give it a go next year! It’s completely free and not just for established artists — everyone has a chance to showcase their work in an exhibition.

The money raised from the Incognito Art Show goes towards programs supporting artists living with disability. It’s a not-for-profit, and 100% of profits are donated to charity partners.

This scene about Nick coming out to his mother in the graphic novel really made me emotional. I can’t help but wonder. If my mum were still alive, maybe she would have been like Nick’s mum. Happy Mother’s Day, Mum. ❤️

34 years ago you left us, and not a day has gone by where I haven’t thought of you. Yesterday you would have turned 88. Sometimes it’s quiet memories, sometimes it’s just wondering what life would be like if you were still here.

I often think about all the moments you missed — my university graduation, my first job, my first pay cheque, my first promotion, my first complaint about work, my first redundancy, and all the ups and downs of life. I wish I could still call you and tell you everything, just to hear you say it would all be okay.

I wish you could see the man I’ve become. I’m not rich or famous, but I am comfortable. Life has had its challenges, but I’ve worked hard, learned, grown, and kept going. I hope you would be proud of me.

There’s so much I wish I could share with you — my first love, heartbreaks, wins, and failures. And one of the things I wish most is that I could have told you I’m gay. I don’t know what you would have said, but I believe in my heart you would have loved me just the same.

I also wish I could have grown older with both you and Dad, as a family, sharing life together. Dad carried so much after you left and raised us on his own. I sometimes imagine what that life would have been like, but I’ve learned to accept it, even though it still hurts.

I will keep living my life with kindness, just as you taught me. I’ve never lost my compassion, and I still believe everyone is beautiful in their own way — something you gave me.

I wish we had more time. I wish I could sit with you again and tell you everything I never got to say. But you are still with me in ways I cannot explain.

Please say hi to Dad and to Wan Chin, our beloved elder sister. I know we’ll all meet again someday — but not too soon.
