DISCLAIMER: This is not to bash anyone. My childhood was beautiful because my mom made sure I got everything she didn’t get as a child but there was also darkness that she couldn’t protect me from & I do not fault her for that.

the name “many faces of Ty” couldn’t be more fitting.
every face represents a different phase of my life.
every version of me taught me something.
every version of me carried me.
every version of me led me back to myself.

for the longest, I mourned the girl I used to be like I didn’t always have access to her.

the girl I missed didn’t disappear overnight.
she disappeared in the small moments.

every time I chose everyone else over myself.

every time I ignored my own needs.

the crazy part is, people saw the weight loss and applauded it.

they didn’t realize the weight wasn’t the only thing I was losing.

a real look at depression.

i was navigating all of this while being a mom.

looking back, i have so much compassion for the woman who was doing the best she could with what she had.

truth is, i’m still doing the best I can with what I have.

life still has its ebbs and flows.

I still have hard days.

but these days, they don’t last as long.

I know myself better now.

I recognize the signs before I lose myself completely.

I have tools to help me find my way back.

do I always use them right away? No.

i’m still human.

but today, staying down no longer feels like my permanent address.

and that’s a victory I’ll never take for granted.

sometimes the greatest transformation isn’t becoming someone new.. it’s remembering who you’ve been all along.
every “wrong” turn somehow led me back to myself.
back to my voice.
back to my joy.
after everything I’ve been through, I realized, I was the one I needed all along. and I never want to lose her again🫶🏾

Please be sweet to me.
