TREE OF LIFE
Mafra - Portugal (2025)
.
The installation is intended to symbolise the cycle of nature, with the leaves brought to life. The visuals projected onto the branches appear to reveal the tree’s vitality and its communication with other trees. It is thought that the aim is to draw attention to the fragility and importance of the natural environment for our ecosystem, emphasising the need for preservation.

First pictures of my new project LAYERS OF THE EARTH premiered last wednesday at @theatercarre in collaboration w/ @maartenvos_ featuring two amazing artists @marinaherlop 💫 & @joepbeving ⚡️. Thanks a lot to everyone who came to the show, @rjzuur and all CARRÉ crew members to have supported us and helped making this project possible.
.
Layers of the Earth is a Carré production and is made possible by the Carré Fund.

Immersive audiovisual live performance that explores the different layers of the Earth. The performance is divided into four distinct sections, each exploring one of the four major components: the crust, the mantle, the outer core, and the inner core. Through a combination of real-time visuals, live music performance and cutting-edge technology the audience will be transported on a journey through the different layers of our planet, experiencing the sights and sounds of each layer. A large circular projection on Carré's arena floor will offer a unique sensory experience that combines the visual and the auditory, creating a multi-dimensional environment that challenges the viewer's perception of space and reality.

ERRATIC WEATHER — Maarten Vos & Maotik

For the first time, ERRATIC WEATHER enters the full dome.

Inspired by our changing climate, Maarten Vos & Maotik transform historical hurricane data into a living audiovisual landscape of sound, light and movement.

Before each performance, the system selects a different historical hurricane. Data including atmospheric pressure, temperature, wind speed and location shapes the music and visuals in real time — making every performance unique.

For the first time, ERRATIC WEATHER is presented beneath a 360° projection dome, placing the audience inside the storm rather than in front of it.

A mesmerizing journey through the beauty, power and unpredictability of nature.

Inner Life, de Maotik, chega a São Paulo

Maotik's Inner Life opens in São Paulo. The French artist builds rooms that respond to whoever walks in: every two minutes the system shifts scale, like turning the lens of a microscope. Full story on completemagazine.com.br, link in bio.

Signal Loop on view until the 30th of August at @inotafestival

In this installation, lights, lasers and projection mapping trace the invisible flows of our age: data streaming through servers, signals crossing the world in milliseconds. The heating room inside the power plant becomes a data center of light, its walls alive with the energy of now.

Thank you to all the team for the production @daniel_besnyo @maokalman @pinkharmony__ and everyone involved in the festival.

IN THIS WORLD is an immersive installation of light, sound, and moving images that explores how constant connectivity and accelerating flows of information are transforming our perception of reality. Conceived as a generative audiovisual environment, the work explores the way contemporary society is increasingly shaped through algorithms that learn, predict, and influence human behaviour at scale.

The installation unfolds across distinct stages that mirror our evolving relationship with digital systems. The experience is a dynamic sensory environment, challenging the perception of time and space. Lines shift and geometries evolve, flowing seamlessly with surround sound across surfaces to create the illusion of infinite space and transform the architecture itself, placing the audience inside a system that grows, adapts, and ultimately exceeds them.
