MARK PIATKOWSKI and ARIS MANTOPOULOS WIN! We had 4 (!!) changes for first place in the last 2 stages of the rally which is absolutely bonkers in rally land. We’re still sorting through piles of inquires and penalties to make sense of the madness but here we are. Mark and Aris won in a 27-year old car with no turbo against rocketships. Bravo.

Excited to announce I will be driving the @mvsport.lt Hyundai i20 VRT in next month’s @rallyzemaitija 🇱🇹 with codriver @andzans

Six time American Rally Champion Mark Piatkowski will make his Lithuanian rally debut at next month’s Rally Žemaitija, the second round of the Lithuanian rally championship.

Piatkowski will be piloting a Hyundai i20 VRT prepared by MV Sport, a Lithuanian company specializing in rally chassis and suspension kits. The pair will work together to bring MV Sport products into the US.

❌ No Rally Colorado for us ❌

Despite my best efforts, I was not able to secure the budget needed to compete at Rally Colorado. I’ll continue to work hard to try to secure funding for future events.

Not the @southernohioforestrally we had hoped for.

All dreams were dashed when we blew 3rd gear on SS4 which caused the transmission to lock in 4th for the remainder of the loop.

Upon swapping the transmission in service, we split open a fuel line which forced us to DNF for the day. That evening we towed it to @pmrmotorsports where Pat fabbed us up a new fuel line and enabled us to restart for the final day.

After rejoining on Day 3 with time penalties, the plan was to run with a clean pace and try to recoup some championship points.

Unfortunately on SS17, we hit a hidden drainage culvert which cause extensive suspension damage. Somehow the car was still driveable and we were able to limp it through the last 3 stages to make it to the finish. A character building event, that’s for sure.

The result dropped us to 5th in the overall ARA championship but we are still leading the Limited class.

Thanks to all my sponsors who always have my back. Sorry we couldn’t bring home a better finish.

Ready for the final day of the @southernohioforestrally

Huge shout out to my crew Logan, Forrest and Pat Moro for getting the car ready for the start of a new day. It was a long night but we are sorted.

Goal is to have fun today and see how the points shake up at the end of the rally.

It is also my son’s first rally. He’s very excited 🙂

Unfortunately a DNF for us. Blew 3rd gear on SS4 then was stuck in 4th for the remainder of the loop. Upon changing the transmission in service, we damaged a fuel line. We will try to fix and restart for tomorrow. Sorry to all our supporters, just not our event this time 🙁

Funny how life arranges things. You start following a great crew from the other side of the world, and then somehow Mark Piatkowski, in this case, comes to Lithuania from USA to participate in some rally events, giving you the opportunity to meet him. Then later, somehow, you end up on the other side of the world – at Olympus Rally in this case – and meet him and his amazing crew again. Not to mention that screaming Subaru from Steven Redd.

“Everyone warned me on how unpredictable Olympus weather can be. So Sara and I flew with squeegees, extension rods, ponchos, demist spray. And honestly, I don’t know what everyone was talking about. The weather was great. I even managed a sun tan.”
