SWEDISH SNOOKER TOUR RANKING 3

Played in my first ranking tournament in snooker here in Sweden this weekend.
Happy with my game and the result. Preparation was good as I made a few 30 breaks in game and 105 in practice.
5th/28.
Matches:
L32: 2-0 ✅ vs Daniel Eljenmyr
L16: 3-2 ✅ vs Sweden number 6, Andrej Nasibov. Very good game by both of us. He was potting incredibly in the beginning and made 50 in the first frame so I thought to myself that it was already over but then I locked in and won the remaining 3 after being 0-2 down.
Quarterfinal: 1-3 ❌ vs Swedish Champion in 2024 and bronze medalist at the Nordic Championship in 2025 Arpat Pulat.
Very high quality match. I won the first and should have won the second but missed an easy red when I was up by 20 and 50 remaining.
Then in the third he started with a break of 32, but I countered with 54. Should have taken the pink but took the black. Missed it and he cleared up. In the fourth frame he made a phenomenal break of 65. I tried to fight back but got unlucky with a safety.

Always fun to play snooker and it’s good to have some variety and get the cue action more accurate. Excited for next time 💥

Mezz Scandinavian 10 ball Masters / Sweden qualifier 4

Finished 9/32. Played ok.
Matches:
R1 vs Robert Dimmlich
4-0 first set. Played very good. Then he won 4-0 in the second set and also played well. We kept our opponent in the seat in the winner break format. Then I won the shootout 2-1 ✅ in sets.
WR1: vs Ulf Collert 2-0 in sets ✅ 4-0 and 4-0 with a nice 2-pack to finish it.
WQ: vs Walter Laikre 0-2 ❌. 3-6 & 2-6 ❌
LQ: vs Stefan Ericson 1-2 ❌. 2-4 & 4-2 ➖. Then in the shootout I missed like 3 balls 🥴

After that there was a shootout side event which I won and I made 29/33 shots in 5 matches 🤩

Big thanks:
Coach Alan Trigg & “Tomme”

Got the sad news today that my great friend Gylfi Ingason has passed away. We played a lot together and he was one of my favourites at Billiardbarinn to talk to or be around. When I had just moved back to Iceland in summer 2021 he was the first player I played outside of my grandfather and we played quite a lot between 2021 and 2022. He was a cook and always helped with the cooking for the closing ceremony of the season and also when the Nordic Snooker Championships were held in Iceland in 2022.

My favourite memory of him was when we were both going to the Nordic Pool Championships in Oslo 2022. It was my first time (200 Fargo ago) and we were both making history as the oldest and youngest ever player. (73 & 13).
He came with the brilliant idea of us too having matching jerseys, so one afternoon we drove from the poolhall to H&M and we bought the shirts. Then he printed the text on them.
Picture down below 👇

I wanted him to experience the first ever Nordic Pool Championships in Iceland and see me play as one of the favourites but he passed away to early.
He had been battling cancer for a year now and in the last couple of days it got worse 😢

ICELANDIC 8-BALL CHAMPION! 🏆

Very happy to win back the title to where it belongs. My second time winning 8-ball. Last time was in 2024. Last year I played my great coach Alan Trigg in the quarterfinals and lost 6-8 playing perfect pool and making 4 break and runs but he played even better. The sole ball I missed costed the match and he won and went on to win. Making 5 break and runs against me 🔥.

Matches:
WR1: 5-6 ❌ vs Zophonias Arnason. (629)
My break was terrible and I missed a crucial ball to go 5-4 up after being 4-2 down. In the final rack I got unlucky with the position on the 8 and had to cut it from a very steep angle in to the corner. Caught it too thin 😂 and missed it. He cleared up and won. Well deserved victory and I have to give him credit for his playing in this tournament. He played solid and took down a few good players.
LR1: 6-0 ✅ vs Þórdís Ýr
LR2: 6-2 ✅ vs Hróar Björnsson. Coming straight from a Swedish Pool Tour Class 1 he was on fire and made 2 impressive runout.
LQ: 6-1 ✅ vs Magnús Grétar Árnason.
Near perfect match for me and I cleared some very tricky tables.
Quarterfinals: 8-3 ✅ vs Daði Már Guðmundsson (608)
Semifinal: 8-3 ✅ vs Zophonias. Got the revenge 💪. He was quite unlucky sometimes but that’s part of the game. I played some smart tactical shots and cleared some tricky tables.
Final: 8-2 ✅ vs Tamás Magyar
Hit flow state in this match and played phenomenal and quick. It was 6-0 after like 20 mins 😅. Missed my first ball at 6-0. It altered the zone a little bit, but I took a timeout and fixed it.
I wanna congratulate Tamás on his first Icelandic Championships silver and the bronze medalists Zophonias and Ástvaldur as well.

Big thanks:
Billiardsamband@ Íslands, @billiardbarinn and Magnús Grétar Árnason for a great tournament and organisation

DAY 3 SUMMARY

Today play was better and I made 5 break and runs. 3 of them being in a row.
I would say it was my A- level.
Still a few scrappy racks with silly mistakes that we need to diminish.
Score today: 16-10. Total: 47-38

We’ll continue tomorrow and play till the end.

DAY 2 SUMMARY

We both played much better than yesterday but still not our A game. Jóhann was playing his B game and I was playing my C game.
Towards the end we started to make more break and runs and clear harder tables. Some crazy shots and some life threatening breakshots from Jóhann 😂. Cueball flied off the table faster than Usain Bolt.

Score today was 17-15 to me. Total score 31-28. It was tight in the beginning, then I got to a 21-15 lead and then he got to 24-22. And the remaining was pretty close.
Stay tuned tomorrow. Will be a little shorter session. Hopefully we can play some proper pool and reach 40 by the end of the session. Friday is going to start at around 14:00 CET. by @maplebilliards8910

The Icelandic 8-ball Championships are coming up and is there any better way to get ready for that than to play someone good a big race?
Me and Jóhann Marel Viðarsson are going to play a Race to 60 game in 8-ball from the
13th -16th of January. There will be a livestream on my YouTube channel Maple Billiards and for those of you that live in Iceland, by all means come to Billiardbarinn and watch.
https://m.youtube.com/@MapleBilliards/streams
We will start at ca 17:15 CET the first 3 days. Probably earlier on Friday. by @maplebilliards8910
