This month’s featured roaster is @farmhandcoffee

We met up with Pete to talk about how he got into roasting, the story behind Steely Dan (their main roaster, yes, it has a name), and where he sees specialty coffee heading in Ireland.

Full story now live on mapmybrew.ie, link in bio.

Head over to their page to find out more, and while you’re there, check out the fermentation project they’ve been working on. Genuinely worth a look.

Our first ever tasting of @belllane_coffee was in Issue 32 of @standartmag , a beautifully produced journal dedicated to specialty coffee culture. The issue came with a small sample of Bell Lane beans. We brewed it, shared a sip, and that was it. It was one of those cups that reminds you why you truly enjoy specialty coffee in the first place.
A light to medium body, with notes of floral, raspberry, lemongrass and caramel.

Bell Lane are based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and have been roasting since 2012. They are award winning, B Corp certified, and built on direct relationships with the farmers for every bag. There are plenty of great articles on their website that give you a sense of what they’re doing beyond the roastery, including one covering the coffee and farm featured in the Standart × Bell Lane Coffee Issue 32.

This month on MapMyBrew we’re shining a light on Bell Lane. Find every café in Ireland serving their coffee on our website mapmybrew.ie. Follow their story at belllane.ie. by @mapmybrew

Tucked away in Camlough, just outside Newry, @cafemonabri is a gorgeous little coffee spot run by Mickey and Phoebe. With its beautifully styled interior, dog-friendly welcome and top notch coffee from @bailiescoffee, it’s easy to see why this gem is receiving such lovely reviews.

Milky coffees here are done just the way we like and there’s a tempting selection of freshly baked treats too. The raspberry cake will replay in my dreams. Add in the excellent service and a team who genuinely go the extra mile and you’ve got all the ingredients for a super experience.

We absolutely loved our first visit and will definitely be back. If you’re ever around Newry, Café Mon Abri is well worth the detour. 🧡

Café Mon Abri is now featured on MapMyBrew.ie. We want to help you discover more independent coffee shops and hidden gems across Ireland.

Tag a coffee-loving friend who needs to add this one to their list! 🧡

Out for a Sunday drive yesterday and called into @awesomecoffeebeans in Carrickmacross. The batch brew was seriously good.

Picked up a couple of bags of beans to bring home as well. Always great to discover new Irish roasters and get to taste what they’re producing.

If you’re passing through Carrickmacross, it’s well worth stopping in.

Photo dump of the new addition to Temple Bar! Sumo Coffee just opened their first café at 11 Anglesea Street.

Competition-grade coffee, an excellent menu! Can’t go wrong with a milk / split shot if you’re unsure where to start.

5 stars from us!

A lovely little addition to Dunleer’s Main Street❤️

Serving specialty coffee from @carrowcoffee, this is the kind of spot you’re delighted to stumble across.

Inside, you’ll find a cosy window seat and small circular wall-mounted tables that make the perfect place to settle in with your coffee. Outside, the large covered benches offer shelter from the Irish weather while providing a great spot to sit back and watch the town go by.

With friendly staff, free parking and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s well worth a stop if you’re passing through Dunleer.

You’ll find this independent specialty coffee bar tucked inside the Ormeau Baths, a beautifully converted Victorian bathhouse in Belfast’s Linen Quarter.

They support rotating guest roasters alongside their house coffee; all pulled from a pastel pink @lamarzocco that sets the tone for the space. The food matches up too, their tahini croissants and focaccia sandwiches are beyond dreamy.

We loved the polished concrete floors, the abundance of natural light, the outdoor seats and the team who are genuinely happy to talk you through each brew. This is the kind of spot you’d love to call your local!

Another must visit spot has just been added to the map over at our website www.MapMyBrew.ie @coffeeangel on Trinity Street, just off College Green is a place that stops you in your tracks with its beautiful, Victorian, red brick building dating back to 1896. Here you will find four storeys of period charm with a compact, bustling coffee shop on the ground floor.

Inside you’ll find the team serving up espressos , filtered coffee, freshly roasted beans and delicious baked treats.

Open seven days a week and arguably one of the best specialty coffee stops in the city.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the newest @shoelanecoffee spot on Burgh Quay yesterday. This will accompany the original Tara Street, Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey stores. A huge picture window floods the space with natural light, making it the perfect place to enjoy a coffee whilst watching the world go by.

A very welcome and vibrant addition to the city’s specialty coffee scene.

Go check out for yourself. www.mapmybrew.ie to discover more coffee destinations all in one place.
