Dancehall producer Mappy of NSG Music Group is celebrating his birthday while continuing to build his name in the industry through a busy and focused release schedule.

A former footballer, Mappy has been blending textures and moods across a growing catalogue of work, sharpening a sound that reflects both experimentation and intent.

That growth recently led to composing two tracks for dancehall icon Vybz Kartel, a moment he describes as career-defining. “Honestly, I can’t really describe the feeling because it wasn’t something I thought would’ve been possible as yet, and it happened out of nowhere,” he says. “It’s been a huge boost of motivation for me personally, as you already know Kartel is the Worl’ Boss literally.”

Alongside Kartel, he continues to work closely with D’yani and Jafrass on upcoming projects. “D’yani is a special talent. Rarely you find an artiste that can sing so easily, but his vision really sets him apart - he’s always thinking about longevity,” Mappy notes.

His current slate includes Jafrass’ sophomore EP, Maestro Don’s Damaged Goods EP, and the recently completed Monument Riddim juggling, featuring Demarco, Skeng, Jafrass, Kyodi, Bayka, and several emerging voices he’s eager to introduce to a wider audience.

Long before his imprisonment, dancehall artiste Quada built a reputation for his powerful storytelling and thought-provoking lyrics.

Now, following his release after a five-month incarceration, the deejay is channeling that experience into music with his new single, “God Loves Me,” produced by NSG Music Group.

“After his release, I had the idea for this specific project based on the conversations we had while he was in jail. I came up with the chorus and told him to build his verses around it, and he executed it perfectly,” explained producer Mappy of NSG Music Group.

According to Mappy, the song was always intended to give Quada a platform to reflect on his journey while sharing a message of faith and hope. The producer said the deejay wanted to remain true to the uplifting themes that have long been a hallmark of his music.

“‘God Loves Me’ was really the message he wanted to spread. He wanted positivity to be at the forefront because that’s always been a big part of his music, and it came together exactly the way we intended,” he added.
