Save this 3-day Athens itinerary for your next trip to Greece 🏛️

DAY 1
• Attic Urban Rooftop - great breakfast + one of the best views of the Parthenon
• Monastiraki & local stores - vintage shops, souvenirs & lively streets
• Change of the Guard - iconic Athens experience at Syntagma Square
• Athens National Garden - don’t miss the turtles & other animals there
• Panathenaic Stadium - the world’s only marble stadium and birthplace of the modern Olympics
• Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation - beautiful art collection, surprisingly many famous paintings and sculptures
• Lycabettus Hill - best panoramic view of Athens at golden hour (but be prepared for the crowds)

DAY 2
• Acropolis - the must-see ancient wonder of Athens, but try to go when it opens (before 9am) to avoid the heat & crowds
• Plaka - charming streets, hidden cafés & classic Greek vibes
• Stavros Niarchos Foundation - magical at sunset

DAY 3
• Vouliagmeni Lake - thermal lake surrounded by cliffs, super relaxing (make sure to book in advance)
• Vouliagmeni Beach - beautiful coastal area

Athens tips:
• Be prepared for crowds, especially around the Acropolis
• If the tickets to Acropolis are sold out on hhticket.gr, check other providers. We booked our tickets through Trip.com
• Wear comfy shoes - lots of hills & uneven streets
• Greek food is amazing so get ready to put on some weight - moussaka, gyros, souvlaki, greek salad, spanakopita, sagaki… just to name a few
• Try freddo espresso

One of London’s most important aviation landmarks is hiding…in Croydon.

Croydon Airport was once London’s main international airport, and it was seriously ahead of its time. It was home to the world’s first purpose-built air traffic control tower, helped shape the modern airport terminal, and even gave us the international distress call “Mayday”.

The original 1928 terminal and control tower are still here today - and you can actually go inside!

📍 Croydon Airport Visitor Centre, South London

The Visitor Centre normally opens on the first Sunday of every month and visits are by pre-booked guided tour, which you can book through the official Historic Croydon Airport website: historiccroydonairport.org.uk

To get there: take the 119 bus from East Croydon station (around 15 minutes) or the 289 from Purley station (around 10 minutes) and get off at Croydon Airport.

Save this if you love discovering unusual places in London 🤍

If you’re visiting Fort William and want an incredible hike without taking on Ben Nevis, save this one 🤍

A few things to know before you go:

• Don’t believe anyone who tells you it’s a 20-minute walk… Allow around 1.5-2 hours for the return hike, especially if you want to stop for photos and enjoy the waterfall.
• Get there early. The car park at the end of Glen Nevis is small and fills up quickly, especially on weekends and during summer.
• Wear comfortable shoes with good grip. Parts of the trail are rocky, uneven and can get slippery after rain.
• Bring insect repellent and a midge net, especially during the warmer months.
• There’s a fun rope bridge near the waterfall if you’re feeling adventurous, but you don’t have to cross it to enjoy the views :)
• Take your time. The trail itself is just as beautiful as the waterfall, with incredible Highland scenery along the way.

If you’re planning to see the Jacobite Steam Train (aka the Harry Potter train) crossing Glenfinnan Viaduct, save this, because there are a few things I wish I’d known before going 🤍

1. Arrive early
And I mean EARLY. Parking fills up very quickly around train time, so I’d aim to be there at least an hour before the expected crossing. There’s the main visitor car park, or you can pre-book private parking nearby at Giuthsachan.

2. Walk a little higher
Most people stop around the main viewpoint, but keep walking further up the hillside if you can. You can get a beautiful view of the viaduct and put a little more distance between yourself and the main crowd.

3. Do not underestimate the midges
This was probably the least magical part 😂 If you’re visiting during midge season, bring a proper midge repellent (Smidge is a popular option in Scotland), and honestly… I’d pack a midge head net too.

Bonus:
Check the official West Coast Railways Jacobite timetable before you go, as schedules and operating dates can change. When it’s running, the Jacobite usually crosses the viaduct at around 10:50am and 3:15pm, but always check before your visit.

And despite the parking, crowds and midges… was it worth it? 100% YES

Watching the steam train cross Glenfinnan Viaduct is one of those Scotland moments that really does feel like a movie!

Add this stop to your next Scottish Highlands road trip 🤍

Just outside Fort William, you can find
📍Corpach Shipwreck

To get here, head towards Corpach from Fort William and make your way to Corpach Basin by the Caledonian Canal. Search “Old Boat of Caol” on Google Maps, then it’s a short walk towards the shoreline to reach the wreck.

A few tips before you visit:

- Check the tide before you go, as the scene changes dramatically between high and low tide
- Wear good footwear as the shoreline can be muddy and uneven
- For the classic view, walk past the wreck and look back towards it with Ben Nevis behind
