Hard to believe it’s been over 15 years since Maps & Atlases released their debut full-length, Perch Patchwork🎶 To celebrate, we gave this remarkable album the anniversary treatment it deserves with an expanded digital edition, packed with rarities including B-sides, remixes, and previously unreleased instrumental tracks – out today, wherever you listen!

Perch Patchwork has also been repressed on beautiful Eco-Green vinyl for the occasion. A fresh pressing for an album that still sounds as inventive, intricate, and wonderfully strange as ever. LP includes a download of the Perch Patchwork Expanded Edition✨

Maps & Atlases’ East Coast tour kicks off today—the very same day the Expanded Edition & new LP arrive. If you can’t make it to the shows, and haven’t pre-ordered a copy, you can also pick one up at your favorite local indie record store! Track down a copy at our link💚 by @mapsnatlases

“Living Decorations”, 15 years ago: The second video from Perch Patchwork✨ Directed by the band’s own Erin Elders, the video chronicled the lavish lifestyle of one Rick Reebok & his band, the Analog Medallion. Filmed by Maps & Atlases’ Chris Hainey in the band’s hometown of Chicago, it featured members of Maps & Atlases alongside Windy City favorites Gypsyblood and Loose Dudes.
East Coast dates start on Friday!💙 by @mapsnatlases

Legendary Chicago indie outfit Maps & Atlases are quite simply one of the Chicago-iest bands in Chicago, if not the entire planet.

Their early EPs ("Trees, Swallows, Houses" and "You and Me and The Mountain") are considered foundational works of art in the eyes of math rock fans.

Their more recent albums, starting with 2010's "Perch Patchwork" blend highly technical musicianship, unique melodies, and odd time signatures with pastoral folk, pop, and experimental influences.

Their fourth album "Lightlessness Is Nothing New", which arrived in 2018 following an extended hiatus, is their danciest and grooviest music yet.

They've appeared at Pritzker Pavilion, Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, North Coast Music Festival, Wicker Park Fest, Metro, Schubas, Beat Kitchen, and pretty much every Chicago venue ever.

We're so excited to have them in Edgewater with their original 4-piece lineup. We're anticipating some cool beards, friendly sing-alongs, and sick dance moves. by @mapsnatlases
