A closer look at the cover for THE DEMONIC INVENTIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE and some of what you can expect!

In Wisteria, the very act of innovation is forbidden. Any creation—art, music, engineering—conjures a demon from the other side. The greater the innovation, the more dangerous the demon.

This has never stopped Aurelie from inventing—but it has made it more difficult. Her inventions are small by necessity, producing demons that she is capable of dispatching alone. But she knows she’s meant for something greater, and each day has her chafing more at the boundaries of her society.

Destrier lost his parents to demons as a child, and has devoted his life to preventing more senseless murder at the hands of demons. He was young when he joined the hunters, and each year he’s grown stronger. But it’s never enough.

When a mysterious figure offers Aurelie a job she can’t refuse—an impossible, magnificent invention—her decision to accept sets off a chain of events that will alter every aspect of their world… and sparks the connection that will change both Aurelie and Des irrevocably.

With the fierce enemies-to-lovers romance of Heartless Hunter and the high-concept worldbuilding of Arcane, The Demonic Inventions of Aurelie Blake will thrill readers looking for their new cross-genre favorite.

⚔️COVER REVEAL⚔️

I’m thrilled to share the cover for the sequel to THE DEMONIC INVENTIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE by the incredible @eleonorpiteira ✨ And I might even love it more than the first?? Aurelie looks so badass, and the little orange tree detail is 😘👌

THE IMMORTAL CREATIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE picks up shortly after that cliffhanger ending of book one 👀 For the Mephisto fans, I’m happy to say our tiny demon friend is back in a major way in this one 🐉 I don’t have an exact release date yet, but I’m anticipating next April or May.

If you’re a fan of romantasy duologies like The Crimson Moth and The Secrets of the Nile, I think this will be right up your alley!

My formula for writing success* has always been talent+luck+persistence. The amount of each is different for everybody, and I’m about 98% persistence (ps that’s the only thing you have control over!).

*you get to decide what success looks like, too

💖MY UNFAMILIAR CHARACTER ART REVEAL💖

“She turned toward Bastian. He was silhouetted by the setting sun, tall and dark and impossible to read. Poppy trotted up to him, sniffing at his pockets for a treat.
His laugh was deep, rumbly and warm, and Winnie immediately felt butterflies in her stomach, coupled with a flood of relief that he’d come back, after all.
They stared at each other for a moment.
Bastian coughed into his fist.”

This stunning (spoiler-free; iykyk) artwork of Winnie, Bastian, and Poppy by @ekbelsher makes me smile every time I see it! More details on how you can get a copy of this exclusive print coming very soon 🦄

Back in June when things were tough, I was served this ad on IG and thought, why not order a ridiculous stuffed critter for funsies? I even treated @sj_and_matcha to one. Let’s just say it didn’t go as planned… But the laughs were worth it. by @mararutherfordwrites

I knew as soon as we moved to Rome that I wanted to write a book inspired by this city. How could I not?? I took this photo in Villa Borghese on a walk this afternoon - the inspiration is everywhere! Swipe for a more detailed description 📜

THE DEATHLESS GRACES won’t be out for a while, but not to worry - I still have My Unfamiliar, The Immortal Creations of Aurelie Blake, and a surprise thing coming out in the meantime! The process of creating MY UNFAMILIAR’s cover! @thelolloco gave me permission to share her sketches (which, as you can see, are incredible!). This is how things unfolded from my perspective as the author. Obviously there were discussions in-house that I wasn’t part of, but I’m so grateful to @wednesday_design for always hitting it out of the park! I am a very visual person, so covers are extremely important to me and I generally have a pretty clear vision of what I want up front. Writing can be a very solitary pursuit, but I love the collaboration on this aspect of making books 🥰
