Louis came into my life as a stray in September 2025. Despite his rough start, he quickly became a beloved member of my family. When I rescued him, we discovered he was heartworm positive and needed treatment for pulmonary hypertension. Even with these challenges, Louis has shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit every day.

Recently, Louis developed lameness in his rear left leg. After consulting with our veterinarian, we learned that he will need orthopedic surgery to repair his CCL, along with radiographs, medications, and follow-up visits. The road to recovery will also include rehabilitation to help him regain his strength and mobility. Watching Louis struggle with pain has been heartbreaking, but I am determined to do everything I can to help him heal and thrive.

As a special education teacher in North Carolina with a single income, covering these unexpected medical expenses is overwhelming. Your support will help Louis get the surgery and rehabilitation he needs to live a full, happy life. My mom is a Kentucky alumna. In 2016 we visited KY together for the 1st time. It was MY 1st time! I promised we’d go to a game together in ‘16.
