I am extremely grateful to announce my commitment to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University!!! Special thank you to Coach Wilson and the rest of my Toro basketball family for helping me reach my goals, and thank you to Coach Ridder and the rest of the ERAU staff for giving me this opportunity! I also want to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they’ve made to help me get to this point, and for being my biggest supporters along the way. Most importantly, I want to give all praise to Jesus Christ for blessing me with the ability to play the game I love, and guiding me throughout this whole process! The game can’t love back.
Regardless of how early the morning, how hard the workout, or how long the practice, we put the work in. Regardless of the countless 16 series’s, 22s, or 17s we had to run, we always pushed to make the time. We were a team centered around the work rather than the ability. From the outside looking in, we were “too small”, and no one believed in us. Ignoring the doubt, we fought hard, achieving a 20-4 regular season record. With playoffs coming up we worked even harder. And regardless of how much we felt we may have earned a second chance at a state title, we still fell short. We poured our hearts out on the floor, yet the game didn’t give anything in return. Not because it is unjust, but because it is unable. You don’t always get what you put in, and the game can’t return any favors. But what I’ve learned is that there are some things that never let you down, and that’s the people you meet and the lessons you learn along the way. wearing a tocoi creek jersey didn’t just give me teammates, it gave me a brotherhood. The coaching staff didn’t just teach me how to play basketball, they taught me how to grow as a man. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for this season, and the people I got to experience it with, I love yall. And whether the Lord blesses me with the continuation of my dream, or the road ends here, I will forever cherish this season.
