I’m quite proud today to have a second article published in the Sunday Times in the space of a few weeks. This one wasn’t commissioned until after lunch on Friday and was delivered to meet its 4.30pm deadline that same day. It’s a strange feeling to see my words become made public to this level. #fromecollege #bullying #education #SEN by @marccarterbath

John Parry-Thomas’s car ‘Babs’ was powered by a massive 27-litre (27,020 cc) V12 Liberty aero-engine producing over 500 hp. At Pendine Sands, Parry-Thomas set a world record of 169.30 mph (271 km/h) on April 27, 1926, and pushed it further the next day to 171.02 mph (275 km/h). In March of the following year he was killed during another record attempt. The car was buried beneath the sands for the following 42 years. Have long had a fascination with the Land Speed Record, so it was an unexpected treat to find this museum at Pendine Sands - the place where Parry-Thomas and Malcolm Campbell challenged each other’s records numerous times in the 1920s. taken in Pendine Sands by @marccarterbath
