🐍 Einmal Spore und zurück 🐍

In SpinnenWerk Vol. 2 schicken wir Kunstwerke auf Reise durch Berlin. Den Anfang machte nun die Regenbogenschlange! 🌈

Dear friends, plants, mammals, insects, and aliens from across the galaxy, thank you so much for walking together through Körnerpark!!. Here you can see some moments from the performance, which was totally Neobarrosa, as the poet Néstor Perlongher would say.

“Blooming from a Neobarrosa Pit” was presented as part of the exhibition “Weirder, Louder, Taller, Uglier – For Weeds to Rewild/Unkraut zur Verwilderung,” curated by @anais_senli, Lorena Juan @lopecado, Sonia Fernández Pan @sf__pan and Sylvia Sadzinski @sylv_inski at Körnerpark Gallery @galerie_im_koernerpark. Thank you so much for the invitation! Special thanks to Anaïs for all her support, and many thanks also to the team at Körnerpark Gallery.

Thanks a lot for the photos!! Ginés Olivares @zetaoral and Jan Geert.
*You'll soon find the script for the performance on my website.

EN
A firebug who sprinkles around in Körnerpark will instruct us about how this controlled, baroque nature has been kept intact across the centuries. To commence, a rather singular discussion takes place between the bug and the one of the garden’s putti. As the tour group continues down the alley of plane trees, some of the questions that the “mammal listeners” pose shall be answered. After a stroll through the flower garden, passing by alligators and urns of fruit, the firebug will make a choreographic presentation at the waterfall or “Mayan pyramid”, so as to impress upon us the immutable symmetry of this architectonic landscape.

The “Astronomy and Textile” Encounter brought together the Suyis Liq'cau weaving group, artists Sashi Gallardo, Valeria Valenzuela, Marcela Moraga and the Asociación Indígena de Regantes y Agricultores
Lay Lay (Indigenous Association of Irrigators and Farmers Lay Lay). During April and May 2026, a
series of workshops were held at the Lickanantay Oases (Atacama Desert), where participants exchanged experiences and knowledge. The Lay Lay Indigenous Association shared Lickanantay astronomical knowledge with the artists and weavers through talks, a visit to the Chug Chug geoglyphs, and a guided observation of the night sky. Following this experience, the artists and weavers held workshops to create the textile designs that will be woven and embroidered for the project "What Happens in the Sky, Happens on Earth. Cosmology of an Oasis", an artistic research project by Marcela Moraga.

Funding: Comité Mixto ESO-Chile 2025
Partners: Museo de Historia Natural y Cultural del Desierto de Atacama (Museum of Natural and Cultural
History of the Atacama Desert), Lickanantay astronomer Basilio Solís and ruta Estelar.

Anchored in Berlin Science Week’s 2025 theme “Beyond Now,” the special programme Night Sky with Open Futures unfolds within the framework of anatomia publica as a five-day public invitation into living, experimental environments where futures are speculated, knowledge is embodied, and science is reoriented toward relational care.

Looking to the sky is never a neutral gesture. Whether through telescopes, woven patterns, or storytelling, we project futures and inherit pasts still ahead of us. Under the dome of the Tieranatomisches Theater, the night sky appears as both archive and oracle—an immersive field where data, stories, and memory intersect. Within this horizon, Night Sky with Open Futures unfolds through two interdisciplinary artistic research projects that transform the Theater into a stage for cosmological imagination.

The title borrows its rhythm from Ocean Vuong’s Night Sky with Exit Wounds — a book that looks at the aftermath of violence and survival through language that is both celestial and corporeal. Where Vuong writes from the ruins of inherited histories — colonial, diasporic, and queer — Night Sky with Open Futures turns that wound toward possibility.
