Showing this weekend at Morristown Armory 13,14 &15. Some of the antique (1920s) carved Lapis Lazuli stones I’ve been having fun with. They were from a collection I picked up a while back, never used or set in jewelry. Hope you can visit our booth or visit us at our studio. M.A.B. Designs.

Love messing with these antique (1920s-30s) genuine carved Jade/Jadeite gems. Bought them from a gentleman jewelry maker in his nineties a couple of years back. He never used them. Just trying to have some fun with them and not overpower the Jades. This one has the chrysanthemum and bird motifs. 14k, Green Tourmaline, diamonds and Tsaverites. Chains are separate. So, I don’t get to paint often as most of my artistic outlet is designing and making jewelry. I recently had open heart surgery and while lying in bed the day after I was thinking of healers both ancient to now and the skills and technology involved. I have had an interest most of my life about ancient healing practices and healers in general. About all that has been learned ( and lost) by civilizations for the many thousands of years leading up to today’s incredible technologies mixed with basic medical learning and practices for the last hundred years or so. That a person can hold your heart in their hands, make the necessary changes to it, close you up and send you on your way is quite fascinating. The simple thought here was the interconnectedness much like the limbs and roots in plants ( ours being enclosed in an epidermis with veins and arteries) vast underground fungi that spread unseen for for miles, solar systems, galaxies and the sense of everything being connected in some way. Nothing you haven’t already thought of before. Available if any heart surgeons, doctors offices, hospitals or anyone who might wish to order one. Each one is hand painted. There will be no prints or lithographs. Some will be on darker backgrounds, some on more light filled backgrounds. I will be doing a couple of larger canvases if anyone is interested. These are on heavy Arches France watercolor paper with acrylic, latex and ink. 30.5”x 22.25”.
