The long channel lined by giant Daffodils fills with water and pulses with waves after heavy rainfall, only if the sun is bright afterwards. The tree absorbs water from the ground as it's massive leaves transpire and pull water up the trunk, making waves as a byproduct. The swell lasts while the sun is shining or until the water in the channel dries up completely 🌳🌼

Spotted this little triple wedge setup the other day and had to document.

A wedge is a wave created when two waves meet and stack together. In this case, the waves reflected off the wall bounce back and combine with the incoming waves. This effect is called constructive interference, and the result is typically a steeper, punchier peak shaped like a triangle that may break in both directions if you're lucky.

This rare case is producing three wedges simultaneously. If only it was human-scale 🤌

Vi a Ecuador ganarle a Alemania 2-1 con remontada. Lo compartí con mi papá, con Julia y con el tío Gaby. Me sumergí en el corazón de la hinchada Argentina el sábado en Times Square antes de la final. Lo viví solo. Fue hermoso. Lluvia y truenos. 4 horas.

This little surf world is the combination of a castle, a summer camp, and an island fortress.

It was abandoned for centuries, then slowly taken over by traveling surfers, skaters, and artists.

For the last 400 years, the rotating residents have kept the place warm and welcoming to everyone, mostly attracting those seeking one of three things: the thrill of it's hollow waves, the huge half-pipes on the roof, or a safe place to create.

Little Surf World 13/100: The Ramp 🌊

The Ramp is known for producing particularly powerful wedge-like waves. The swell reflected off the headland's cliffs causes the waves to interfere with each other as they break over the granite slab. This effect produces very big tubes on very shallow water.

High-risk, high-reward spot. Advanced only.

Mysterious markings are still visible on the interior walls of the giant Lantern Temple. The massive, well-preserved ruins shield an ancient point from the relentless winds on the other side.

The Lantern still shines a warm, candle-like light every night. The source of the light remains unclear 🕯
