2009 was a wild year. I was chasing my own style, while gig posters were blowing my mind. Meeting Mos Def in person was a turning point and the show felt like a true ritual.

Nothing beats the thrill of seeing a scene move for the first time, even in a pencil test. This project is very special to me, and seeing it move for the first time is... well, it's the kind of joy that keeps me doing what I do.

________

As an animation director, it's rare that I get the chance to animate scenes in projects, but when the opportunity comes, it's always a huge pleasure to dive back into it!

In this shot from Vintage Culture's "Hero" music video, I had the amazing effects animated by @icaneverstop
