EAGLES OUT NOW EVERYWHERE 🙌🏽

This song is about learning to wait on God. Learning to walk with God. Learning to move at the rhythm and pace of God.

There once was a song that said when I move you move… Just like that. This is basically the gospel-ish version. LOL. 😂 🕺🏽💃🏽

Learning to move with God’s pace has been a lifelong journey for me, and probably something that I will have to keep learning for the rest of my life. For now, this song is what I’ve learned so far.

Slow down.

Wait upon the Lord.

Trust and believe He won’t ghost.

A firm foundation.

I will see His goodness in the land of the living.

If you’ve ever been in a season where you’ve had to wait on God, or maybe you are in a season where you are waiting for God right now for something. I know the feeling. I know the pressure. I know the faith it takes to hold on.

While we wait for the Deluxe version of Meditations Chapter 2 to drop on Friday, take a trip with me to revisit The LaGuardia Sessions.

I’ll forever be proud of this body of work, and the experience that we were able to share with these 80 students on this day. And a special shoutout to all my friends and colleagues who helped make this happen with me. 🙏🏽

CHAPTER 2 DELUXE OUT NOW

When I first began working on Meditations Chapter 2 almost four years ago, the vision was always to create 3 bodies of work that existed together; a studio album, a live album, and an acoustic album. And when I first started telling people about it, they would laugh and turn their heads sideways in a doubting sort of way. No one thought it could be done.

But today that vision is finally complete. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

You can listen to the original project plus these 4 new acoustic recordings and you can listen to the live versions of these songs (the LaGuardia Sessions) on my YouTube channel. Plus, I got to include the intro that I didn’t get to include in the original edition, and the Prayer remix.

I hope this blesses you, as much as I was blessed, challenged, and inspired while creating this project.

14 years ago we got engaged and married in 4 months after dating for 5 months and being friends for 3 years. We were working off a whisper from God and wild love and belief in each other.

Folks thought we were insane at the time (and maybe we were a little bit 😂) but the fact that we are still standing is proof that God is thoughtful. He knows. He sees. He cares. He’s got it all planned and figured out. There’s truly no challenge life can throw at us that we can’t overcome together.

And that’s a fact.

A couple of scriptures that inspired EAGLES 🦅

Ever since I started writing songs, I’ve wanted to be a psalmist. More than a songwriter, someone who makes the words of scripture come alive for the modern time. One who can take the ancient text, and paint a modern picture.

It’s been well stated that over 33% of the Psalms are lament, but most of the modern worship songs we sing in church do not reflect this. But even more than laments, the Psalms paint a picture of an authentic heart of a worshiper: joy, sadness, love, pain, hurt, fear, trust, faith, grief, hope, despair, and all the little emotions that run between these. Humanity and divinity colliding.

As a modern psalmist, my goal is to write all of these.

One week of EAGLES 🦅🙌🏽

Biggest thank you to all who have listened and engaged this week. I truly pour my heart into every song I make, because I want to be a good steward of what God gave me, and so each time you listen, watch the lyric video, share it with a friend, or engage with a post is truly meaningful to me… and it’s also more important than you know for an independent artist like myself. So thank you. 🙏🏽

This particular song I wrote a while ago, it was the first song I wrote for Chapter 3, because it defined the sound of what I want my next body of work to feel like.

I thought I was making this song for other people, what I didn’t expect is that I would need this song for myself right now. It’s insane how you can make a song years ago, and God will bring it back to you right when you need it most.

Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Ecclesiastes 11.

I’m still learning how to wait well. How to move at God’s pace. How to walk and never faint. How to be courageous in patience. How to soar.

More singles and an album coming soon. For now, I think I’m gonna wait. 🙏🏽
