Sono lieto di annunciare che il film "The Woddafucka Thing" dal 25 gennaio sarà nei cinema in Germania. Inutile dire che film indipendenti del genere, costati 7 anni di duro lavoro e fatica, nonché un dispendio economico pazzesco, non se ne fanno più. Se avete ancora voglia di veder un film che racconti qualcosa della nostra umanità, che ci aiuti a vedere meglio il mondo intorno a noi, è il momento di tornare al cinema🙂 Vi aspetto tutti alla premiere del 24 gennaio al cinema del Kulturbreurei a Berlino. “Il film che riceve il primo premio ha, come il precedente, per protagonista una donna forte.
Qui abbiamo però una piccola gangster che fuoriesce dai tradizionali clichés. Un’attrice che vorremmo vedere più spesso ricoprire ruoli da protagonista.
Questa storia realistica, divertente e dettagliata ci ha conquistato anche perché si prende gioco delle classiche regole del genere “gangster movie” e talvolta le infrange.
Con umorismo laconico Gianluca Vallero racconta una storia tragicomica che mostra una Berlino insolita. E niente meglio del bianco e nero si addice allo spirito ribelle di questa città.
Per questo motivo il premio va a “The Woddafucka Thing””

As I said in the previous post, this is a must-see little gem. I knew it would be successful. The jury prize for best German-language film at the Bremen film festival is an absolute confirmation of that. A big applause goes to the director Gianluca Vallero and all the cast who believed in this independent project that lasted six years!!!

Una foto rubata durante una sessione di studio con Giuseppe Rotunno.
Mi sono sempre aggirato intorno alla tua figura per tre anni guardandoti sempre come un mostro sacro, incredulo di poter usufruire dei tuoi insegnamenti.
Mi tolleravi sapendo che il mio comportamento, un po' fuori dal seminato, era dato dal profondo rispetto che avevo per un pezzo di storia del cinema mondiale come te.
Quel giorno, mentre facevo questa foto, arricciasti la bocca un po' scocciato, ma con molta ironia.
RIP Maestro, é stato un onore conoscerti.

You tolerated me, knowing that my behavior, which was a bit out of the ordinary, was due to the deep respect I had for a piece of world cinema history like you.

People pray in front of the memorial cenotaph, where the names of the victims are engraved.

Sheltered by an arch that takes up Shinto symbolism and protects the souls of the dead, it also aligns with the Flame of Peace, which has remained incandescent since it was first lit in 1964. On the monument there is the inscription "may all souls rest in peace so that we do not repeat the same mistake". The "we" challenges the whole humanity, and Hiroshima's mistakes become a dissuasive example of what must never be repeated. The poignant perspective line that brings together these three strong symbols of the catastrophe ends at the Hiroshima Peace Museum, in which the alignment of the arch, the flame and the dome takes on its full meaning.

Inscribed in 1996 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Genbaku dome ("of the bomb") in the background has not been restored and remains, except for some additions to ensure its stability, in the same state in which it reduced by Little Boy bomb in August 1945.

NYC’s Lady Liberty was presented to the city by France way back in 1886, while Tokyo’s own version was temporarily moved from its home at Paris’ Île aux Cygnes to Odaiba in 1998 to commemorate Franco-Japanese ties for a year.

It turned out to be so popular that they decided to erect a new replica on Odaiba in 2000. Its position in front of Rainbow Bridge also makes it a perfect optical illusion: many people think the Tokyo version is just as large as NYC's, but get up close things will suddenly seem a whole lot smaller. In Tokyo it stands a mere 12.25m tall, compared to New York's 93m.

This statue isn't Japan’s only one. At least two more exist (one in Shimoda, one in Osaka), though neither views are as impressive as that achieved by Tokyo’s lucky lady.

There is a pillar with a small hole in its base at Todaiji Temple. The hole is the same size as the Great Buddha’s nostril, which is 37cm by 30cm. It is said that if you squeeze through the hole, you will become healthy. The pillar is located at Kimon (demon’s gate). People thought evil spirits came from this direction, so the hole was constructed to drive the spirits away.
