Dolina Gąsienicowa zimą we mgle

Nazwa Doliny Gąsienicowej związana jest z nazwiskiem Gąsieniców, dawniejszych właścicieli. Była dawniej intensywnie wypasana, wchodziła w skład Hali Gąsienicowej. W zapisach pojawiła się już w 1653 r. jako hala Stawów. Na mapach z XIX wieku figuruje nazwa Doliny Siedmiu Stawów.

Left-wing demonstration against anti-eugenics change to the abortion law in Poland. 28/10/20, Katowice, Upper Silesia.

The October 2020 Polish protests began in Poland on 22 October 2020 against the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal, which tightened the law on abortion in Poland by making it illegal in severe and irreversible disability or incurable and life-threatening disease of the fetus. The other two cases allowed by Polish law, that of rape or incest, or when the woman's life or health is at risk, were not affected by the ruling. The amendment to the act was based on a civic legislative initiative and collected over 400,000 signatures, four times more than required by law.

Street protests, inspired by the opposition left-wing and liberal political parties, took place in the town centres, in front of the ruling party (Law and Justice, Polish: Prawo i Sprawiedliwość) offices, and in front of the offices of religious administrations. Protesters staged sit-ins in Catholic churches, disrupting Sunday Mass in several cities, including Katowice and Poznań and churches across the country were vandalized. The protests included slogans with widespread use of the vulgar words "fuck" (Polish: jebać) and "fuck off" (Polish: wypierdalać) opposing the PiS party, their leader Jarosław Kaczyński, the Catholic Church, holding up banners in churches, and painting of graffiti on church and cathedral walls throughout Poland.
