💕 A year ago I made a decision to undergo gender affirming surgery. It was not a decision made lightly. I researched surgeons and about the pros and cons for a decade. I'm so happy I finally did it, the amount of comfort in my body now is astounding. Some days before surgery I wouldn't leave the house because I felt uncomfortable and awkward in my own skin. Now I can run out in leggings with bedhead and get a coffee, and just feel like a person. There are more sunny days than cloudy days now. I feel a lot more hope. The recovery was pretty brutal and gnarly but when it's your own body you adapt and care for it, and nurture it until you are fully healed. If you ever thought about gender affirming surgeries, do them for yourself and not anybody else. Take your time, there is no schedule or time limit to pursue your dreams. I am so grateful for modern medicine and for Rush Hospital. Nurse Roe was a saint who would sing with me and we shared a mutual love of pink. Thank you to the social media community and to my family and friends for your kindness you have shown me this past year. 💕 by @marciquaranta

It was an absolute pleasure to see my boyfriend achieve his dreams, from our first date almost 4 years ago he has always remained enthusiastic and steadfast on achieving his goal to open a record store. He signed the lease almost 2 months ago and built every fixture, ensured the speakers filled the space without being overbearing, and injected so much of his journey into the personal touches throughout the store. Working along side Daniel yesterday was one of the best days of my life, so many people we love came to celebrate his achievement. The best was our community in Rogers Park and Chicago showed out, and that made my heart sing. Thank you to everyone for supporting Daniel and the store. ❤️🩷 This moment feels like a fairytale. The little girl who blew on dandelions at soccer practice, and who asked God in the pews why she was born in the wrong body, got her wish. I don't believe the way I was born was a mistake, it gave me a big heart. I feel so much peace and quiet. Ariel finally got her legs. The ugly duckling became a swan. 🕊️ As you can imagine, right now a lot of Transgender people are scared. Please share! I guarantee reading this prayer will bring some relief no matter what you believe.

God, please rest your hands on my shoulders and help guide me in these uncertain and scary times. Please bring me and my transgender and non binary brothers. sisters, and siblings comfort. Please help people have more empathy and an understanding of your teachings of acceptance. Allow me to have peace in my truth because it is my reality and it is not a lie.
