SILENCIO BERLIN

Fifteen years of Silencio, and a new chapter written in Berlin.

Set within the former Watergate, on the banks of the Spree, this pop-up has been shaped in dialogue with the city: its creative energy, its nightlife, and the singular way its nights unfold.

Architecture by @studio.karhard, sculptures and installations by @marcleschelier and lighting by @studio.raito come together to create a space for music, performance, moving image and the visual arts.

Marc Leschelier is an architect and sculptor, expounding on architecture’s notions and vocabulary. His work has changes the way a building can be understood, a departure from the simple idea of its functional use.

We approached Marc with a fascination in his pavilions without function, and spent 2 years designing a structure in Alaska that explores the formal balance of perceived function and conceptual value.

Becoming a process of considerations brought on by the natural relation of the work and its site specific polar location.

This installation of Marc’s pavilion on the Soon Foundation grounds becomes an inaugural gathering location Marc’s preceding the completion of the Foundation’s residence and studio. by @marcleschelier
