All smiles at the beginning of the run… definitely not how it ended. 😂

I’ve been dealing with some tightness in my left calf for the past few months. It would get better, then flare up again depending on what I was doing, but nothing that really stopped me.

Today that changed. I pushed off with my left leg, felt a very distinct “pop,” and immediately realized I couldn’t put any weight on it. Not exactly the way we planned on finishing the run!

A trip to the Wooster ER later and the diagnosis is a ruptured left plantaris muscle. I’ll need some follow-up to figure out the extent of the tear and what recovery looks like, but for now it’s crutches and an unexpected break from running.

Early miles, empty roads, and a plane overhead. ✈️🚴‍♂️

Got out early for a 50K ride this morning and managed to keep the streak alive — another ride, another perfectly timed plane in the shot. ✈️📸

Fitness is starting to come around as I shift the focus toward HYROX training. Strength, running, engine work… and still making time for the bike.

First HYROX is Vancouver in December. Time to see what this engine can do. 💪🔥

Quick update to our entry way! The room was all white and was the only room that we hadn’t touched yet. We went bold for us but love how it turned out! #nesteration #nesterationhome #diy #dewalt #dewalttools #homesweethome #homedesign #homestyling #sherwinwilliams #paint taken in Haller Lake by @marcnester

Having an old #farmhouse with paster and lathe walls, it’s important to not disturb it too much or it will cause unwanted cracks and separation. Therefore, it is always good to measure twice and cut once. Luckily, in my latest project to install recessed lighting, I had my #helper with me to ensure I did things correctly! #diy #dewalt #orinnester #orinclarke #homeprojects #projects #kitchendesign #kitchen taken in Haller Lake by @marcnester

Another “rest and recovery” post for a project I did awhile back…. Orin seems to destroy retractable baby gates and frankly they are pretty ugly. So @steeredc asked if I could make something a little more durable and aesthetically pleasing and here is what I came up with. Now I only need to make a few more! #nesteration #nesterationhome #diy #custom #customwoodwork #customdesign #babygate #modernfarmhouse #fastcap #moderndesign #woodworking #dewalt #dewalttools #blackandyellow taken in Haller Lake by @marcnester

Since I am on “rest and recovery” from my surgery, I thought I would post one of my old projects. @steeredc asked me if I could make an outdoor table and she gave me free rein. The picnic table that came with the house when we purchased it wasn’t going to cut it! 😂

I had recently had built a headboard (will post this soon) and thought I would continue with a similar design. What do you think? #diy #dewalt #custom #nesterationhome #designedbydoris #customtable #madewithlove #custombuilt #woodworking taken in Haller Lake by @marcnester

Another weekend, another fun project with my #littlehelper! Finally getting around to trimming out our newly renovated basement windows. It sure makes the space seem more complete. Wonder what’s in store for next weekend with this little one? #diy #orinclarke #goodmorninorin #orinnester #daddyslittlehelper #dewalt #dewalttools #craftsmanhome #son #katequinn taken in Seattle, Washington by @marcnester

Happy 3rd Anniversary Love! Words do not express my love and gratitude for the day that you became Mrs. Marc Nester. You are an amazing wife, lover, friend, and mother. Even though it has only been 3 years, I can’t remember a time without you in my life. We have been through so many events (marriage, miscarriages, birth, house ownership, renovations, pandemic) in such a short time, that I can’t imagine anything that we can’t conquer as long as we are together. Thank you for being my rock and for always being my biggest supporter. I cheers to us today and every day for the rest of our lives! I love you! by @marcnester

My wife @steeredc is so talented! Look at her quick drawing on the back of a piece of paper for our powder bathroom and then see it come to life! Our home renovations are finally coming to fruition and I am looking forward to the extra time we will have for other fun adventures! #teamnester #nesteration #nesterationhome #designedbyd #diy taken in Haller Lake by @marcnester
