It’s hard to put into words right now how I feel knowing you took your last breath on this Earth yesterday. My Grandmother was an amazing human being, who always showed unconditional love to her family and cared about everyone so deeply. She raised 6 kids, including my dad, in such a beautiful way always emphasizing how important family is. Six kids means so many grandkids, yet she took the time to connect and love each and every one of us like we were the only grandchild she had. I’ll never forget our time together last summer, when she came to see me in Forever Plaid. After the show she comes to give me a hug and whispers in my ear, “you’re right where you’re meant to be.” Those are words I will hold on to for the rest of my life. That meant the world to me. She truly taught me the importance of family. She always supported me. I promise you Grandma, I will continue to make you proud as you look down entering your next journey at the beautiful family you’ve created. When I grieve and navigate challenges in my life, I always turn to music. And “You’ll Be in My Heart” by Phill Collins has led me to realize that your presence will always be in my heart. When I hear the words, “just look over your shoulder, I’ll be there always” I can’t help but find joy in the fact that you’ll always be watching. I love you like you can’t even imagine, and I’m so grateful for the 22 years of my life I got to spend with you. May you rest in peace while your legacy lives on for eternity.
