It has been hard to keep up on social media the past few months, but I am so excited about so many upcoming projects and opportunities. One of them is coming soon! On October 8, I will premiere the #marimba #concerto version of Ari’s Repose, by @matcampbell.media, alongside @keithdodsonconductor and the @cmusymphonyorch!! This beautiful piece was commissioned as part of the #PIXELMASTERWORKS project. The version for marimba with audio playback was premiered last year and recorded last June. It is a reworking of two tracks from Ari’s Journey, an indie #videogame that Mat scored! Please feel free to check it out Oct. 8 if you can! I will share the livestream on my story once it is available! @salyers_percussion @pearladamspercussion @sabiancymbals @cmumusicschool @cmu_cam @cmu_perc @michigan.pas by @marcojschirripa

It won’t be one to miss!! @cmumusicschool @cmuniversity @cmu_cam @percussivearts @michigan.pas #percussionensemble #chambermusic #fireup by @marcojschirripa
An awesome two weeks with @heartlandmarimba!! First we had a few local shows as part of the Cedar Valley Chamber Music Festival before heading to @taliesinwi to perform in an amazing Frank Lloyd Wright designed theatre while staying in Tan-y-deri, one of several homes on the preservation. (We also got a private tour of his actual house!!) Then we headed back to Waterloo for the Coley Artist Practicum/Composer LabFest where we got to spend an intense week working with amazing students from around the country. I taught several percussion and composition clinics and lessons, while both running rehearsals and performing with the students, including several the @cmu_perc percussionists! Now for a whirlwind of travel until school starts back up! by @marcojschirripa
I am very excited to share that I have been #promoted to Associate Professor of Percussion at Central Michigan University!! My first three years at CMU have been a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding. I am deeply appreciative of the support of my colleagues and administration within the School of Music, who have been so great to work with since making the move up north. A huge thank you as well to my amazing students of @cmu_perc. They are the reason I continue to show up each day and give my best. I am so proud of what we have built and excited for the future of this program! 🔥👆 @cmumusicschool @cmu_cam by @marcojschirripa
I appeared in a magazine! The December 2025 edition of the Percussive Notes magazine, presented by the @percussivearts society, featured a story on Dr. Marco Schirripa's @marcojschirripa #PIXELMASTERWORKS project, which I was absolutely honored to be a part of. In case you missed it, PIXEL MASTERWORKS brought together a collection of video game music composers to write a collection of new works for the marimba! My piece, Intro & Loop, takes cues from my work as a game composer and from the nature of video game music itself to present a work that is as artful as it is groovy. Visit the link in my bio or Slide20xx.com/pixel-masterworks to listen to the whole thing! and stay tuned for the album release 👀 by @marcojschirripa

I am so excited to share that the Central Michigan University Percussion Ensemble has been invited to perform the New Literature Showcase Concert at #pasic2026!! @cmuperc has been working HARD these past three years and it will be amazing to take this next step and share some incredible new #percussion #chambermusic with everyone at PASIC!! For any unfamiliar: this is a 90-minute showcase concert at PASIC featuring a widest possible range of #percussionensemble #newmusic written in the last 5 years. A huge but extremely rewarding undertaking! Looking forward to seeing everyone, especially @cmumusicschool alumni, this November in Indianapolis! @cmu_cam @cmuniversity @salyers_percussion @sabiancymbals @pearladamspercussion @heartlandmarimba @michigan.pas by @marcojschirripa
