🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: 🏛️LUKB HQ a beautiful example of early Brutalisim/Structuralism completed in 1973 by the general contractor Karl Steiner, it was designed to initiate a modern renewal of the city's Gründerzeit district. While the facade remains preserved, the interior customer hall was completely overhauled in late 2023 by the interior architecture firm DOBAS.⠀ ⠀ Thanks for having me @switzerlandnl & @visitlucerne 🙏 (invited)⠀ ⠀ #architecture #lucerne 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: The The iconic Kapellbrücke in Lucerne is a masterclass in vernacular timber architecture. Built in the 14th century as part of the city’s fortifications, it stands as the oldest surviving truss bridge in Europe. 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: This stunning installation from Shirana Shahbazi’s "All at Once" exhibition at Kunstmuseum Luzern completely redefines how we look at photography. ⠀ ⠀ Working alongside architect Li Tavor, Shahbazi uses colored glass partitions to overlay vibrant tones and reflections onto stark black-and-white imagery.⠀ ⠀ The result is a shifting visual landscape that changes with every step you take. #ShiranaShahbazi 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: What a way to start your day 🙌 ⠀ ⠀ Seebad Luzern 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: the striking, ornate Renaissance Revival facade of the Hotel Waldstätterhof, located just steps away from the Lucerne train station. ⠀ ⠀ Built in the late 19th century, its architecture beautifully reflects the grand, historic hotel boom that swept across Switzerland during the golden age of Alpine tourism. 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: Chasing geometric reflections in the heart of Lucerne. 🇨🇭✨⠀ ⠀ Spotted at Zentralstrasse 1, right alongside the bustling Lucerne railway station complex, this striking modern structure commands attention. While many travelers rush past to catch their trains or marvel at the city's historic medieval architecture, this building offers a brilliant masterclass in contemporary design. 🇨🇭Lucerne through my lens: KKL Lucerne (2000)⠀ ⠀ Instead of building over the scenic landscape, Nouvel brought the lake right to the venue using interior water channels. ⠀ Hovering directly above is the building taken in Luzern, Switzerland by @marcorama

Stepping inside the sanctuary of secrets: The Abbey Library of St. Gallen 📚✨⠀ ⠀ ​Built between 1758 and 1767 by architect Peter Thumb, this space stands as one of the ultimate masterpieces of High Baroque architecture. Every square inch of the main hall is designed to awe: ​✨ The Ceiling Frescoes: Painted by Joseph Wannenmacher, four main dynamic panels depict the early ecumenical councils, framed by intricate white stucco ornament (Rocaille) that makes the ceiling look weightless. ⠀ ​🪵 Master Woodwork: Floor-to-ceiling carved walnut and pine bookcases line the hall, interrupted only by undulating balconies and Corinthian columns that give the room a rhythmic, flowing movement. ⠀ ​👟 The Parquet Floor: The starburst wooden floor is so delicate visitors wear oversized felt slippers over their shoes to preserve the original 18th-century inlay. ⠀ ​Above the entrance portal, a Greek inscription reads Psychēs Iatreion—“Healing Place of the Soul.” ⠀ ​Would you visit this sanctuary of knowledge? 👇 ⠀ 📍Klosterhof 6D, 9000 St. Gallen, Switzerland ⠀ ​#StGallen #AbbeyLibrary #Stiftsbibliothek #BaroqueArchitecture #SwitzerlandTravel by @marcorama

MAD curves @fenix 🌪👀 Read on to learn more about the 50,000 components, 297 polished steel panels, and 550 meters of spiraling pathway. 🌪️✨! ⠀ ⠀ ℹ️MAD Architects designed the double helix as a physical metaphor for human migration, movement, and fluid journeys. The two winding paths offer visitors different routes up and down, symbolizing choice and trajectory.⠀ ⠀ The structure rises 30 meters high and features 550 meters of winding stairways, is self-supporting and structurally separate from the historic concrete frame of the warehouse building.⠀ ⠀ Clad in 297 custom mirror-polished stainless-steel panels that capture reflections of light, water, and sky.⠀ ⠀ Engineered and built by CIG Architecture over six years, using roughly 50,000 unique individual components. Welcome to my architectural view on the New Land! Reclaimed from the sea almost 50 years ago to create a new province, Flevoland, with a lot of contemporary architecture! And.. only 30 minutes from Amsterdam! #amsterdamarea Lying 4 meters below sea level, the 2 major cities in this province are Almere and Lelystad. Calatrava x Daniel Buren - back when architecture and art transformed this railway station into a giant kaleidoscope ✨️⠀ ⠀ ℹ️ Guilemins TGV railway station was completed in 2009 following a design from @calatravaofficial architects. Known from the Valencia Ciudad de last artes and the WTC transportation hub in New York. ⠀ ⠀ 🎨 The 158m long roof was dressed with a play of colors by the French artist Daniel Buren in 2023. Life isn’t always a straight path ✨ There’s something mesmerizing about spiral staircases — part art, part architecture, part mystery.
