Here is a trailer I edited of a performance piece I scored by the most incredible choreographer @lonifaye in the fall of 2022 at @purchasedance @purchasecollege. It was one of my first major scores and it was one of the most fulfilling collaborations of my life and watching it being performed alongside other legends like Bill T. Jones, it was so moving. I will be sharing more videos of this piece with more of the music soon! “FLOCK, GO FORTH” Loni Landon - Purchase Dance Company 2022 “FLOCK, GO FORTH” Performed at the Pepsico Theater in November of 2022 for Purchase Dance Company’s Fall 2022 season. Introducing composer for THE NAKED WOMAN, @marcusfoster1. Portrait by @bellamybrewster ✨ Marcus Foster is a London-born sculptor, musician, producer and composer living and working in New York City. As an interdisciplinary artist, he is fascinated with connecting visual and sonic worlds, bringing a sculptor’s sensibility to composition and sound design. Foster has composed scores for Gibney Dance Company and for choreographers Loni Landon and Stefanie Noll. He contributed an original composition to The Secret Symphony of Plants, a live orchestral album featuring composers including Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. His recent film work includes A Very Icky Christmas and Love New York, directed by Anthony De Mieri — the latter winning Best Film at both the Bowery Film Festival and the Comedy Film Festival. A versatile collaborator, Foster has performed internationally across the US and beyond, including an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with The Roots. He is currently scoring Metamorphosis, a film and live dance performance premiering at the Dome in Vancouver in July. He is also in pre-production as composer and co-producer on a Giallo-inspired horror film directed by Anthony De Mieri, set to begin production in August. by @marcusfoster1

London-born and Brooklyn-based, Marcus Foster is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, sound and visual installation. Over the past decade, Foster has applied his creative sensibilities to music and composition — writing scores for dance, film and installation, and exploring the meeting of visual form and sonic architecture. With “Black Cherry”, Foster bridges his artistic background and musical practice, translating the living rhythms of the wild black cherry plant into both sound and image — bringing texture and form to the language of nature. 🎧 Stream “Black Cherry” — every listen gives back to nature.
