DOING US HUMBLY🇧🇿🇵🇭

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Although the past 20 months have been so surreal (the best writers in Hollywood couldn’t script it), nothing can compare to the devastation I felt with the passing of my father, Ludwig Dexter Alexander Welsh, on this day just one year ago. Because of my situation (which I will address in the near future through my music), I never got to publicly pay respect & homage to the man that taught me how to be man how I should’ve or wanted to…I’m just glad God allowed me to be able to say goodbye & tell him I love him & thank him for everything before we laid him to rest for good. My Daddy died & a part of myself died too, but it had to. It had to for me to become who not just who my Daddy raised me to be, but who I’m supposed to be. It’ll take much more time & work, but as I reflect on my past & the lessons & teachings he provided for me, I also feel his spirit driving me to push forward & be who I need to be for myself & our family, “1% everyday son, 1% everyday”…One year has passed & the pain hasn’t gotten easier, but I’ll forever be grateful for those that have shown me & my family love & support throughout it all. It’s touching to see how he touched those that got to know him or even just interacted with him a few times. The kindest man in the world! I attached this song because not only was it one of his favorites songs from his favorite rapper, but I’ll never forget as a kid him teaching where the title of the song derives from, John 14:2-3: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also”…I know now my father is with God in whatever mansion he wants. We love you Daddy & we miss you so much every single day. May you continue to rest in peace & watch over us. taken in Crenshaw District by @marcusslang
