Still buzzing from the event « Joie de vivre » at @sfmoma where I led an art workshop inspired by the current exhibition « Matisse’s Femme au chapeau : a modern scandal ».

The workshop invited participants to work in pairs and to paint portraits of each others while wearing an extravagant hat and experiment with the bold color palette of Fauvism.

It was so much fun seeing everyone trying the hats on and having a good time. I was very impressed by some of the portraits and have the feeling that Matisse himself would have been too! 💫🎨

November is said to be the month of witchcraft & occult celebration. So it feels like the perfect moment to finally release my new series of #linoprint —and what better place for their debut than @farleyscoffee , the best coffee house in San Francisco.

‘Shape Shifters’ is a series inspired by ancient tales and folklore, where woman and witches were believed to hold the secret power of becoming animal. Echoing moments in history when both women and beats were condemned as witches, these works stand an hommage to their shared fate.

Each design is a limited edition of 50 prints, and each one embodies 7 different characters alongside a different animal.

If you had the power to shapeshift into an animal, which one would you become? 🐍🐐🐸🦊🐭🐺🦎🐇🐈

The show is on display until the end of the month. Pick one while you can.

This week was a special anniversary for me and Bingyin as we were celebrating 10 years of perfect 💖💖

Usually a bit discreet about my private life on IG, I still wanted to share about it because without Bingyin, I do not think that Marcy -the artist, would be there.

Ever since I decided to go back to my practice after working for a while in the cultural industry, BingYin has been nothing less than my rock, my muse, my assistant and my 24/24h support. I wish for every young artist to have their own Bingyin.

We have been living on 3 different continents, together and sometimes on our own but always there for each others.

The first picture has been taken during our very first trip together in North Ireland, only a couple of months after we met for the first time in England. The last one has been taken a couple of weeks ago in California, where we now live. Between them, it’s 10 years of silly selfies from various locations around the world. Here is a selection of my favourites (keep the fun up guys !! 😜)

This first summer in San Francisco has been a very strange and chill one for me.

However, I am very grateful I could find a little studio with @artexplosionstudios almost immediately after coming back from Cincinnati.
I spent the summer settling in, trying to find a new rythme inside this new tiny space. I am starting to feel good inside of it.

It was also time to start a new project and this summer has been all about print making. I just finished a first Lino print project, printed at @missiongrafica but keep experimenting with new things. I will show this new series, along with some older pieces during the Open Studio this weekend #artexplostionstudios

Marcy Petit has been out on Imago's trails creating "In the Middle of Everything" (in tree-safe pigments).

Celebrate the opening of “In the Middle of Everything” with Marcy this Saturday by creating a Forest Crown!

Date: May 31, 2025
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

During this family friendly workshop participants will use wooden sticks, leaves, pine cones, and other forest treasures to create and personalize their own crowns, transforming into the queens and kings of the forest.

Marcy is the recipient of the 2025 Vance Wadell residency program at the Wave Pool gallery.

“In this exhibition, Wave Pool’s 2025 Vance Waddell Femist Artist-in-Residence Marcy Petit explores the loss and reclamation of women’s ancestral ties to nature. Drawing from #ecofeminism scholarship, #folklore rooted in Celtic heritage, and personal family stories, the project reimagines forgotten spaces of feminine power, resistance and healing. […] Each artwork embodies a symbolic gesture of reclamation.”

After a well deserved break in #chicago, I finally have the time to share some images of last Saturday’s opening and performance for ‘Under the Owl’s Eye’ at the @wavepoolartcenter!

This show is the conclusion of 5 intense residency weeks in Cincinnati, and I cannot express enough how happy and grateful I am.
