If January and February are extra hard after the holiday chaos, let's talk about strategies to implement now for a better season. by @marcyhcoaching

Which one do you need to hear, not which one do you want to hear?

I'm generally a fan of there are always more things to try.

But some people really need to hear that some of their needs are not going to get met by this other human, so now what?

That doesn't always mean the end of a relationship. There are always needs your partner can't meet. Because they are human, and limited.

There are always needs of your partners that you are not meeting.

Accepting those limitations is sometimes very healing for a relationship and sometimes it means the end of one. by @marcyhcoaching

I would love to see you in November to discuss avoiding holiday /winter burnout and coach you live. by @marcyhcoaching

This is assuming that you didn't choose to marry a huge jerk face. I hope you didn't.

Some days I wish that we could just grab unrelational people by the lapels (I don't know the last time I saw someone in lapels so we might have to settle for their shoulders) and shake some sense into them.

But honestly, all of us being imperfect gives all of us endless opportunities for curiosity and growth, and so there are some upsides too. by @marcyhcoaching

This was a hard lesson for me to learn in the beginning.

I was very good at having compassion for other people and I struggled to have compassion for myself at the same time.
Because it felt contradictory.

And probably also because I'm a little bit of a control freak and I'd rather things be my fault so that I have power in the situation... by @marcyhcoaching

That might sound like the same thing, being ready to move on, being tired of the consequences, but unfortunately it is not. by @marcyhcoaching

There are people in your life that you know better than they know themselves, but only to a point.

I'm still learning new things about *myself* all the time, new things about my kid, new things about my best friends, and of course new things about my partner.

It would be so boring to ever assume I knew everything about anyone. by @marcyhcoaching

Find a "fall in love" question list. Get a conversation deck. Go do something you've never done before. Go be creative together. Or just be active together.

Connect on purpose. Build new memories on purpose. by @marcyhcoaching

No matter what your goals are for this relationship, for your future, or for future relationships, learning to show up with maturity - no matter what - is what will serve you best.

That doesn't mean being nice. It doesn't mean forgiving. It definitely doesn't mean letting your guard down.

Just acting with maturity. Acting in a way you'd be proud for the whole world to see.

Even if the other person does deserve your disdain or contempt, you don't deserve to have to feel that disdain or contempt. by @marcyhcoaching

My husband is consistently impressed with how many books I get through but I am consistently impressed with how many movies he gets through.

Watching shows and movies is so much more work for me than reading and not just because of interpreting what people are pretending to think and feel but also because of how I can tune out my family and other distractions while I read and I cannot do that while watching a show.

Do you read for downtime? Any amazing book recommendations you want to share? by @marcyhcoaching

Your brain is just trying to save energ and keep things simple.

But sometimes simplicity obscures all of our options and makes us feel trapped and stuck.

The world is rarely as binary as our brains are leading us to believe. by @marcyhcoaching
