Como canaria orgullosa que soy, siempre me han atraído los productos locales y artesanales.⁠

Un día, mi cabeza hizo “clic” y todo tuvo sentido. Un concept store exclusivamente con productos canarios, hechos a mano, únicos y sostenibles… justo como a mi me gusta. ⁠

Wherever I traveled, I was always on the hunt for the coolest concept stores. ⁠
⁠
I kept on nurturing the idea to one day start my own business, but I needed a hook that felt personal and ‘right’ for me. As a proud Canarian, I was always drawn to local, artisanal products. ⁠
⁠
And then one day, it just clicked and it all made sense. A concept store exclusively with Canarian products, handmade, unique and eco-friendly… Just the way I like it. ⁠

And that’s how Mar de Nubes was born☁️⁠

Hoy es el cumpleaños de la mitad de Mar de nubes. El hombre que hace realidad todas las ideas locas que se me pasan por la cabeza.

Si ser autónomo ya es una profesión de riesgo en este país, súmale que tu pareja también lo sea, que además trabajéis juntos codo con codo las 24h y tengáis dos niños menores de 3 años… pues sin duda este año más que ningún otro nos merecemos celebrarnos y celebrarte.

Por ser el mejor compañero de batallas, padre, marido y persona que conozco.

Today is the birthday of the other half of Mar de Nubes. The man who turns all the crazy ideas in my head into reality.

Being self-employed is already a bit of a high-risk sport in this country. Now add having a partner who’s also self-employed, working side by side 24/7, and raising two kids under three… Let’s just say that this year, more than ever, we deserve to celebrate ourselves — and especially you.

For being the best partner in crime, dad, husband, and all-round human being I know.

Cuando la ilustración y la cerámica se juntan ✨

La cerámica de Liuba Nosova es la combinación perfecta de ilustración y cerámica. Cada pieza es única, está llena de personalidad y tiene una historia que la hace todavía más especial.

Esta taza, por ejemplo, no es simplemente una taza. Es una pequeña pieza de arte llamada “Helping Hands”, inspirada en esos momentos de la vida en los que necesitamos un poco de ayuda de un lugar que no siempre podemos ver.

Nos encanta tener el arte de Liuba Nosova en Mar de Nubes, con esta y otras piezas disponibles en nuestra tienda. 💙

The ceramics by Liuba Nosova are the perfect combination of illustration and pottery. Each piece is unique, full of character, and has a story that makes it even more special.

This cup, for example, is not simply a cup. It is a little piece of art called “Helping Hands”, inspired by those moments in life when we need a little help from somewhere we cannot always see.

We are very happy to have Liuba Nosova’s art at Mar de Nubes, with this and other pieces available in our shop. 💙

✨ ¡MAÑANA VOLVEMOS! ✨

Después de unas semanas de descanso por maternidad y paternidad, y de mucho trabajo poniendo nuestra tienda a punto, mañana volvemos a abrir las puertas de Mar de Nubes. 🤍

Hemos aprovechado este tiempo para hacer algunos cambios, renovar espacios y preparar la tienda con todavía más cariño para vosotros.

Tenemos muchísimas ganas de volver a veros, de enseñaros todo lo nuevo y de seguir dando visibilidad al talento y la artesanía de nuestras islas. 🌿

Como muchxs ya saben, estamos esperando a nuestro segundo bebé 💙
Y ya que nos metemos en cambios… aprovecharemos para darle también una nueva cara a la tienda ✨

Cerramos este jueves 14 de mayo por obras, baja de maternidad/paternidad y supervivencia familiar 😅

Nos vemos a la vuelta. Les avisaremos cuando volvamos a abrir 💫

As many of you already know, we’re expecting our second baby 💙
And since we’re already going through big changes… we’re also taking the chance to give the shop a little facelift ✨

We’ll be closing from Thursday, May 14th for renovations, maternity/paternity leave, and overall family survival 😅

Hay colaboraciones que simplemente se sienten especiales desde el principio… y esta es, sin duda, una de ellas.

Desde que empezamos a trabajar con Anna (@anna.ciok.art) y sus acuarelas, supimos que su sensibilidad y forma de mirar el mundo tenían algo único. Y cuando nos dijo que estaba dando el salto a la cerámica, lo tuvimos claro: iba a ser un éxito.

Hoy podemos decir que no nos equivocábamos. Su universo ha tomado forma en piezas que transmiten la misma delicadeza, pero ahora se pueden tocar, habitar y hacer parte de tu día a día.

De esas colaboraciones que nos hacen especial ilusión, que encajan de forma natural y que sabemos que os van a enamorar tanto como a nosotros 🤍

Some collaborations just feel special from the very beginning… and this is definitely one of them.

From the moment we started working with Anna (@anna.ciok.art) and her watercolours, we knew her sensitivity and unique way of seeing the world was something truly special. And when she told us she was moving into ceramics, we just knew: it was going to be a success.

Today we can say we weren’t wrong. Her universe has taken shape in pieces that carry the same delicacy, but can now be touched, lived with, and become part of your everyday.

One of those collaborations that truly excites us, that feels natural, and that we know you’re going to fall in love with as much as we have 🤍
