WHEN DELICACY UNFOLDS STRENGTH In her Solo Performance, Mareike immerses herself into an non-ordinary power circle and explores dynamics and effects of power in the eye of the storm. Twelve ventilators create multidirectional wind games and surprising movement impulses. Cyborgs? Ancestors? Contemporary witches? The interaction between female presence and technological Co-performers opens multilayered association spaces and enfolds immense powers, that can not be forced, only allowed and nurtured. Between tailwing and pushback, a breeze of the past blows towards possible futures and brings lightness to the heaviness we carry even if it isn't ours. Who moves what? What moves us?⁠

Warum hat man uns beigebracht, Hexen zu fürchten und nicht die, die sie verbrannten – oder die Machtstrukturen, die Repressionen legitimierten und bis heute fortwirken? Die Hexe kehrt in feministischen* Deutungen als Archetyp machtvoller Weiblichkeit* und unterdrückten Erfahrungswissens wieder, befeuert Aktivismus und durchkreuzt Authorität. Wie bewegen uns alte und neue Hexen(kräfte)? Was müssen wir (wieder) verzaubern? Welche Hexe(n) finden wir?

Das Performance-Experiment "Machine to become" untersucht komplexe Konzepte und verschiebt Stereotypen mit Hilfe von Publikumsassoziationen, Geschichten, Klang und Bewegung. Nach der „Machine to become-Woman“ laden wir ein zur „Machine to become-which Witch?”
