This past weekend I had the pleasure of helping backstage at The Croque Madame Revue at @dtrh_festival as my first assignment of internship at @maisonthefaux !!

I got to meet and get to know so many lovely talented individuals, that i’m sure will continue to inspire me!

Meet the graduates - Mare Langen

ENKEL DE MASSA SNOERT DE MACHTELOZE DE MOND

In een interdisciplinaire fashion-performance deelt Mare haar zorgen over het opkomend wereldwijde fascisme en hoe dit de wereld om haar heen, in bijzonder haar eigen transgender-gemeenschap, beïnvloed. Ze positioneert haarzelf in de wereld als een uitgesproken maker met een zwak voor extravagantie. Met een activistisch werk spreekt ze het publiek direct aan met één doel: Het elimineren van onwetendheid.

SOLELY THE MASSES SUPPRESS THE POWERLESS

In an interdisciplinairy fashion-performance, Mare shares her concern about the rising global forces of fascism; how those forces are changing the world around her, in particular her own transgender-community. She positions herself in the world as an outspoken creator with a penchant for extravagance. With an activistic body of work she directly addresses the audience with one goal: Eliminating ignorance.

Tussen Leed & Lichting // Between Ache & Ease

As part of the exhibition ‘With Every Fiber’ at @kunstliefde i had the pleasure of displaying my work for the very first time.

This piece is the personification of the twisted self-image that gender-dysphoria can cause. My transition has been my biggest source of joy over the last few years, but it also comes with some very complex emotions that scream to be projected in a grand scale like this. To try to capture the illusion of self-doubt in a striking image. taken in Kunstliefde by @marelangen
